CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!!!!!!!

Awsome event, Fantatastic to watch and be part of.

really captured that driving on the limit battle , and great catorgory racing as well.

The standard of cars was just superb!!

It definately captured the Tsukuba type atmosphere and was really exciting , I cant wait to be part of the next one!!!

Win or lose , i would not have missed it and anyone who wants a blast should give it a go!

Huge congratulations to the AWSOME Lotus guys , superb driving and great to watch,

Also was fantastic result for the BSM guys considering the issues prior to the event, was great watching Lofty's commitment into turn 1 & Bozzo's !!!

To Arron sorry to hear what happen to your car mate, that should have had repercussions to Middleton & the way he was driving in pit lane!

The r35 was just awsome, it truly is an amazing car, I reckon Bozzo would have pulled atleast another second off my time so a high15 low 16 would have been possible in almost stock form!! amazing

also thanks to richard (beer baron) over the last couple of weeks with all sorts of miracles performed to get parts to me!! I had one part from japan delivered to me in about 12 hours from order to delivery!! :woot:

we learned an awful lot on the weekend again! just as we did in Japan, bring on the next one!! love it

cheers russ

and John next time drive you own car, you looked like you really wanted to be out there, being slower doesnt stop me from having ago! drive it ya big girl ! :D

LOL, apologies for the scratched record Russ....i cant believe you werent tag teaming the R35 and the R33. The R35 for when you had a session and wanted an update on the footy score. And the R33 for when you wanted to rupture an ear drums. It was good to see the R33 in the flesh again!

As is Adz had the screaming RB department pretty mcuh to himself. Does anyone know if the ADVAN R33 GTR still runs twin TD06s?

Beer Barons 2 day format sounds great. I had never been to OP before so had a lot of trouble getting my head around the track and driving a car that i was unfamilar with didnt help my plight 27th outright (car 35) in a car that is capable of much more. But still had a great time.

Congratulations To Matty Car (36 same car) 8th outright on only his second time at OP with some less than good condition tyres was a top effort IMO as we definatly didn't take the event as seriously as a lot of the other competitors. Checked tyre pressures once and that was the extent of our prep. I was wrapped with the way the car performed as it was built by myself and Matty in My shed without the help or support of any workshops so the fact that we both thrashed the car all day and never had to touch the toll box was awsome and no mean feat for a GTR.

Congrats to Mark and Russ aswell both put down some awsome times in their respective machinery. Just the fact mark went so close the lotus was a top efort and goes to show that the GTR really is the supreme weapon of choice considering it is a 20 year old car and has some pretty severe wieght to contend with. Just wait untill the boys get to release the real potential of that 35 with a few mods i think we could all be in trouble. And props to the hi power racing guys in their aspirated CRX stupid fast time from that car.

And congrats to Ian and Nathan for a well run event for the first time. Bring on the next event as I am sure it will only get bigger and better from here

The 35 is insane. I was cheeky and asked the lady in the camper truck for the keys on Friday night to do some night laps of the track... Once one of those things get the boost wound up and a few other mods it'll be hard for anything to get near it. Even the Lotuses won't touch it.

so where was sydney kid and son of. come on, let's get stuck in.

I heard paul say that united forklift rentals needed SKs RB30 back for their forklift... any truth to that?

we saw them re-installing it into one of their forklifts Sunday morning on Parramatta rd on our way home. It was due back at Flemington Markets for Monday morning trade.

Howdy all… I just wanted to say, that I can’t not believe this complete dribble from people about Bozz driving someone’s car!

Seriously if can not drive your car as fast as it can be driven you shouldn’t of entered this event and if you did… the promoters of this event mislead you of there real intensions of what they were trying to achieve. SUPERLAP = Trying to achieve the fastest lap in the class of car, not driver.

SUPERDRIVER might equal a group of drivers driving the same car and seeing who can get the best out of it.

I suggest if you are concerned about the fact that someone is faster than you, stop complaining about it and get out on the track and practise more.

How many of the cars entered in the Tsukuba event in Japan (on which this event was suppose to be based on), were driven by there owners? Near none of them, because the cars are owned by tuning houses who hire drivers to get the best out of them to help sell there wares.

THIS WAS A DRIVING EVENT WAS IT NOT???

One thing that I couldn’t believe when I went with Bozz to the drivers briefing was when "Nathan" the apparent promoter said to Bozz Quote “Bozz I will ban you from driving that car next year” Unquote.

Bozz then said Quote “easy I will find another car to drive” Unquote.

Nathan’s comeback was then Quote “well I will just ban you then” Unquote

This wasn’t said in jest or with any humor… he was serious to the point where I know Bozz was embarrassed to be in his company of him and left the room. I have to say I know others heard the comment and also thought the sameas me but for the sake of harmony wont say anything.

So rather than saying congratulations for the tremendous talent display and for setting the benchmark in driving standards, Nathan’s obvious lack of experience in both life and event promotion gave him the idea that bagging the most talented driver on the day was the best choice. Good on ya Nathan you twit!

This type of event has so much potential, I really hope that a lot was learnt and future events are operated in a lot more professional manner. Even more so considering that people was asked to pay to get into the event. (which i didnt have a problem about doing)

A couple of things that I could not believe about the day that had so much potential

No officials… I can not understand given the format of the day that there were no officials. Other than the Evo on its lid and the time taken for officials to get to it, there were also a number of situations where people with expired cars were out on the track for what seemed the remainder of the session regardless of where they were located. I saw one red R32 waving his hands for 10minutes before someone came and sorted it out and got him a tow back.

Some of the people entering with none or very little driving experience. The RX7 who’s engine let go continuing on around the track with no regard to others who were suppose to be pushing it, was absolutely amazing… I have never seen anything like it.

The amount of people in pit lane, the people smoking on the pit wall… that’s just stupid. At one stage I even saw someone sitting on the pit wall!!!

Brett Middleton with his experience speeding in pits like he was and then the incident in which I personally witnessed him run into the back of the white R34 coming into Recaro. That alone should of seen him being kicked out! No action was taken whatsoever by the officials and then for Brett to then go and put blame on the other driver for “braking to early” FCUK me he is lucky he didn’t get more than he did. Tosser!

All in all I think that it is great to finally have an event like this of the ground. I just really do hope that a lot more thought goes into the promotion and structure before the next because if it doesn’t there is no way that it will get of the ground amongst REAL motorsport enthusiasts and will be simply limited to the street car scene and not include the likes of the quality experienced operators there on the day.

Highlights for me;

The Lotus’s were amazingly fast as per usual.

The BMW M3 sounded like it was revving to 10,000rpm and looked fat.

Great to see Mark and Russ out there ripping it up as they do (two of the nicest blokes in Australian motorsport).

Also good to see Marty Notaris with his newly built car… look out for him in the Dutton!

What a great event!!!

I had an absolute blast!!! I also had one of the scariest moments thus far and still cant believe I didn’t end up on my roof at turn 1. Apparently the R35 got a got look at my screamer pipe from under my car as it went past.

Well done to the Superlap crew on your first successful event. Sure there will always be a few teething problems but as long as you remain professional and respond to feedback im sure you will achieve the quality event you are striving for. I look forward to a solid set of rules and their enforcement at the next event.

It was great meeting some of the NSW guys you have an awesome track.

A big thank you to Juzzy, Brisby, Bec and Ryan for all your help, support and comic relief.

Cant wait for the next one and a series in 2009.

p.s. JP I’m so much closer than I thought I would be. Top effort on the slot car but keep it up as I’m coming :woot:

Peace.

Saturday 19th July at Wakefield with timing, seeya there :D

Datto is coming along fine mate, decided to ditch the IPRA regs and the CA and now using a SR20 set up with NO RESTRICTORS hehehe. Car will be ready before the end of the year. See if we can have another rear wheel drive turbo car give some of the 4WD cars a scare hehe

The big difference is, they can not ban me i am fat and slow. I am however better looking than Bozz!!!

All is good and good to see you guys on the weekend, take care

why dont we just turn up and Bozz can drive all the cars....seriously....It may as well be called the "John Boston 500"

he can drive someone elses car...thats fine.

just be fair and take it to the open class like we did...Its like me running on for Merewether U15's rugby union and scoring 8 tries and winning the grand final for them.

    • Hi all,  I have a older model of the Greddy Front facing intake on an RB25DET NEO Head. I've bought aeroflows fuel rail and injector kit (1000cc Bosche injectors) and I'm unsure if the fitment is correct. The injector o-rings fit in the intake hole but it's not snug. I can very easily rotate the injectors even when the fuel rail is mounted. The kit also came with multiple adaptors, they dont make it any more snug and using them raises the injectors up and i cant mount the fuel rail. I hope this makes sense I've asses a few photos.    Thanks so much guys.
    • So, to run the 4g aerials to the booster, I had to get access to the rear bulkhead....bit of a mission. Hot tip, don't offer to help change the rear shocks for a mate with a v37.... Remove seat base, 2 clips that slide forward to release it the it lifts straight out Fold down rear seat (pull in from boot) The side bolster of the rear seat is not connected to the middle parts that fold. To remove unbolt at the bottom bolt then push it up off the top hook Then there is a plastic surround behind the seat back, 2 pop out clips, 2 bastard clips, some swearing at it is out Pop the rear seat latch surround off Remove door surround lower trim then side trim  Remove c pillar trim - 4 clips, pull inwards not forwards Remove metal brace - 5 bolts 1 nut Then you have got to the rear strut top...what a pain!
    • If you really want squish back, you can have it put on the piston (at least to some extent).
