pushead
Does anyone know what type of resinators are best for zorst? the hotdog type? or the boxed up type? reason being is because my zorst is still too loud... i have the hotdog type but want to maybe either change or add the boxed resinator. Cheers yall. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/ Share on other sites
nismoman18
the hot dog type is not that good a resonator, the box ones that are fibreglass or steel wool packed are better or even dual chamber resonators, maybe even another muffler Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/#findComment-444093 Share on other sites
ron
if its too loud, just get a silencer. i just put one on mine, drive likes stock now, no power at all. but at least its quiet ron Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/#findComment-447091 Share on other sites
nismoman18
silencers dont always work, al they really do is restrict flow, hence making less noise Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/#findComment-447219 Share on other sites
Ronin 09
pushead, get a inline muffler put in between the cat and the rear muffler. Remember that the more mass you have in the exhaust, the more dampening it will have and the quieter it will be. But also, you can still get 3" centre mufflers that quieten the exhaust down a fair bit that flows well and doesn't rob power. pushead
ohh another question is im going to get the dump/front pipe off batmbl.. will this decrease the noise level having the dump/front pipe 3"? Al
It might actually increase the noise, as the dump pipe allows more air to be flowed. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/#findComment-447926 Share on other sites
rs73
has anyone used any silencer for a Trust exhaust with 110-115mm tip? Wonder if APexi's silencer will bolt on as they both have the same tip size. About $100 though... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/#findComment-447978 Share on other sites
Ronin 09
rs73: I have a trust exhaust with the silencer, it is a 4.5" tip; it only reduces the volume about 8-10dB... Any good exhaust shop should be able to make you a bolt in silencer (more or less exactly the same as the Apex'i ones) for no more than about 40 bucks. Try Daalder in Box Hill, ask for Matthew 9890 4444. pushead: What i meant is a muffler that looks like this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=398367 instead of just a hot-dog. It will quieten the exhaust down heaps. Again, go see Daalder. rs73
Thx Ronin. Will try him. 8-10db would be great, as to human ear, I heard every increase of around 3db would seem to sound twice as loud. So to our ear, reducing 10db means only felt about 30% of the noise... Ronin 09
Matt is a mate of my mechanic; he's worked on my car a few times - top fella. If you want to quieten it down a bit just go in and have a chat to him - he's really good. akeenan
will this decrease the noise level having the dump/front pipe 3"? i dont think it will increase the noise level possibly might make the sounds slightly deeper. it didnt make mine any louder , but its louder now Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/#findComment-448921 Share on other sites
rs73
I have 3" front pipe. Before I put it in, I only used 3" cat back. The noise gets slightly deeper, I agree, and may even sound like it's less noisy after I put in the front pipe. rs73
Maybe coz u're not sitting in their car that's why urs always sound louder than some other R33 that passes by metres away. Ronin 09
nismoman18, that is a pic of Inark's exhaust. Mine is below, and sits lower than legal even though my car is at stock ride height. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=129138 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=129137 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...=&postid=129141 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21096-best-resinator-for-zorst/#findComment-450766 Share on other sites
