there are lots of gay little clip things in the bottom of the front bar, and you screw threw them. thre are also some little square headed bolts and you put nuts on them. it's a bitch to do with the bumper on the car. my advice is take the bumper off, attach lip then refit the whole thing in one hit. :teehee:

Yeah its an asshole. Make sure you don't break the clips... They are pretty weak.

I wiped mine out on the driveway and now its held on by zip ties...(really dont know what i would do without zip ties haha)

Taking the whole front bumper off would be more of a pain in the ass to do then just removing/replacing the front lip with the front bumper on the car. Just jack the front of the car up, put stands under it then lay on your back and remove the 15 bolts that hold on the lip.

If you've already broken it off, then take it to a plastic welder. They may be able to help re-attach the plastic holes the screws go into. That's what I'm going to do in the next week or so....

Thanks for the help guys

just jacked up the front, jumped uder removed all the bolt/clip things and re-fitted them.

30 mins, so nice and easy. hopefully the splitter survives tomorrow at queensland raceway. lol

    • I definitely agree with you there - I never click on content for cars I would never ever be able to get or compete with/against/be seen next to. Seeing a MX5 compete with a FD RX7 will make people upset though, for sure. Even in 2.5L Turbo form which is pretty grass roots. (or at least as grass roots as classic cars can be) Yes we're all classic car owners now.
    • Wonder what the cause is, but here's hoping it's nothing too serious.
    • People don't always want builds that are overly expensive, or have engineering/registration/insurance issues and head aches that come with them Whilst big dollar builds, and complicated stuff is interesting to watch, there is only a tiny % of people who would actually use this information, or have the spare finances to drop on said builds, whereas the buy a cheap(ish) cool car, and make it better, with a average budget, that the average Joe or Jane could achieve will always be a winner in my opinion
    • Bit of a thread revival, you mentioned wanting a bit more top end before, do you regret not going with the 1.01?
    • It's kind of interesting - They definitely do builds that split the difference between what they like and what will generate views and engagement. The NC Platform always surprises everyone in a good way, in an uncomfortably good way some may say. They could throw a LS in there and arguably have the best (and best performing) car of the entire stable. But that isn't necessarily what draws views, because people viewing don't want to accept the vegetables of a LS NC MX5 being a superior vehicle in every way (including fun) than a RB26 240Z. This is also why there's not a lot of content about the GR Yaris (on the web in general). They're too good, yet 'only a Yaris' The community doesn't want certain cars to be as good as they are - to beat their hero cars, and I believe the NC MX5 is absolutely one of those cars.
