Nah, I got a ceramic turbo... the nylons are series 2 R33's.

Jish, don't be talkin' whack about my mother, I'll bust you up, son.

Edit: On the turbo thing, the ceramics will handle up to 14psi before they start coming apart... the nylons are worse, so the story goes... 12-13 being the break point... but some people might get lucky and get a good turbo from a good batch that can handle a bit more... personally I'm not worried about bits going down my exhaust, but VERY worried about bits of shattered impeller blade making their way into my plenum and into the engine. They'd have to make their weay through about 2m of piping and the intercooler... but still... at the cost of the engine, I'd rather not gamble.

Sorry Matt, just editted post as you posted. Read back.

Edit, again: I seem to remember something about ceramics holding and holding and holding and then just letting go with a loud crack, whereas the nylon internals will peel and seperate over a period... dunno how long the period is, but I'd say that as soon as it starts, damage will increase exponentially.

What happens with the engine remains to be seen... that's off in the future, anyway. Changeover will happen... er... when I can afford a few other bits and then sort out the plan of attack. Probably before the end of October.

ah ok ... thought you might use an aftermarket on.e I'm still yet to how well a power fc works with a 3L twin cammer motor ..... I know a lot of people don't think much of the power fc as not every tuner can tune one but i believe give it to a tuner who has a fair knoledge of tuning and has tuned on many many different ecu and they will be able to tune it well. Plus its a damn cheap ecu for one that is closed loop .....

We will, its just fun to try and guess what times a car will do.  althouhg last time i had quite a few people tell me that i would do a 13 without adoubt but I never ended up doing one so it was a bit disappointing ......... hmm I better shutup now don't want to have some be disappointed in their car .... anyway guys a 13 second street car is still damn fast and would beat the majority of cars on the street .....

Yeah its great fun, but mind u i also like getting my dick caught in a blender,

By the way guys we are getting a present for geno. I'll buy it and court is going to be my debt collector. Be afraid that bitch scares me. Not posting what we are getting cause i don't want any retard telling him. But we can get it engraved with eveyones name, or just the collective group. Bad news on the keg front too. Damn it just have to drink corona. Those pricks, but hey i'm a survivor as christina says.

    • KYBs are typically twin tube, putting them in the lower tier of desireability. Do you just want to replace worn out ones for the lowest cost? I mean, you wouldn't just replace one end of a car, if the rears are a similar age to the fronts, then they are probably nowhere near what they should be, and likely won't be great against brand new fronts. So, to spend ~$800 on 2nd tier dampers, when you could get a decent set of MCA coilovers for <$4k.....? As to the strut tops. 1st up, the Sparesbox site specifically tells you that they are not correct for an R33. Beyond that, why do you think you need them?
    • That's not very Toyota of the Toyota!
    • Bringing an old thread back to life Looking to put some new front shocks in the r33Gtst and the KYB still look ok for a road car. Unless there are any other options aroind that price $200 a shock?  I’d like to replace the strut tops also, is this the correct KYB no. For the strut top, KSM7124?  https://www.sparesbox.com.au/products/kyb-strut-top-mount-ksm7124?srsltid=AfmBOoq-HDru8wSlLnQrhU9gCw_uYdKg8gUQzONY-EQOdnI5iXOWEUjY 341287 appears to be the front KYB shocks part no.  thanks all
    • LandCruiser used to get a fluid flush every 12 to 18 months.   Only because it was about that often the electric motor on the master for brake assist kept dieing and needing to come off.
