Rebuild it. Depends what it actually needs but its not too expensive if its just in need of brushes and perhaps some new bearings. Get it checked out and quoted on before you go buying another alternator possibly about to let go. I think buying second hand parts that are prone to wear is kind of pointless even if you do save a few dollars. Int he near future you will most likely be replacing it again anyway.

Rebuild it over buying a new one - its new then anyways. Like Godzilla said, it could be as simple as $5 brushes, get a quote first

I paid about the same from my autoelec and that included a rewinding
