Hey guys,

Im looking to buy an xbox 360 for one reason only - Forza 2. Ive been told it eats any Gran Turismo edition alive.

I have played the latest grand turismo and it makes me sick. If you go to do donuts for example in a fully setup silvia drift car the car goes round in circles like its got a single spin diff. :D

Just want to make sure this isnt the case with Forza.

Also drifting on gran turismo is like peeling an orange, just too easy, not realistic enough, no whip lash if u over correct etc. Just crap. Ive also noticed with GT4 no matter what gear ur spinning in the straight line the car stays completely straight...? when does this ever happen in real life? lol.

Tell me as much as u know about forza... I, dont have any mates with this game to give it a go unfortunately!!

hey i used to drift on Forza 1, then i got the 360 and Forza 2 dropped my jaw clean off, i think it drives a hell of allot better the 1 and it looks sweeeeet as.

to answer you questions,

Forza is allot harder to control, throttle control comes in ALOT.

if you have the upgraded Diff you can adjust how much lock you will have on Accel and Deccel (no single spins :P )

you do get some nice whip but not a brutal as in real life, just enough to be able to link a corner.

as for the car staying straight in a burnout... i have a R34 with a Nissan race car motor (R390 i think?) it converted the GTR to RWD and with full mods and Traction control ON it still on wont stay straight =D

i use a S14 with the standard SR20 in it worked out to around 400kw and it is enough to link entire tracks with ease

i also had a FC RX7 with almost no power mods (all that was down was intake and zhust) making around 290ish kw i gave it full suspension tune and it slid pretty well

so to sum up... Forza 2 FTW :D

Forza 2 definately FTW...

I have a Mercedes superboat thing that I supercharged the shit out of, and the amount of instant power makes it for a phenominal drift car! I think it's pushing 600kw

I also have a couple 698 (i think) kw R34s, a 400kw, 800kilo Hachi that does 6th gear burnouts, and several other cars that really make me want to get my Xbox fixed!

The drifitng is pretty realistic, but it will never be the same as real life... but it still beats the pants off of GT...

Hey Guys,

Im a xbox 360 guy! But Grand Turismo has the name and apparently the new one is the wildest thing out...

Forza is a Top Game, Good Graphics and game play!!!

The best part of the game is the fact you can do engine conversions!!!

RB26 In an old Z!! thats drift for ya!!

I have forza 2 and I bought the xbox because of forza 2 and I love car racing.

I have HD 32" Panasonic lcd dedicated for xbox only.

I have xbox wheel and pedal.

I have....... wait for it the ultimate rumbel chair, man this thing is amazing you feel all the bump on the road and stereo speakers.

Lets just say any time friends come over they want to play xbox and forza all the time.

now saying that I have seen demo of GT5 for PS3 and that looks awsome too. but i am happy with forza and if you want a good game for drifting then get PRO Street (need for speed)

If you want to see this set up or experience it let me know if that helps you make up your mind.

Im in Brisbane

Forza 2 is sickkk lol (excuse the lebanese haha) it really is a great game. I just finished making my drifter, the classic AE86, stiffened the rear anti-roll bar and it drifts like a dream. Not sure how realistic it is, but graphics are incredible, my dad thinks the clip when the game turns on is video footage but its animated haha :) . Awsome game, fully recommended

LOL... So they've added a "Drift Mode" to GT5. Just like some games that are BASED on Drift alone, does not mean it's any good.

GT5 is enhanced visuals and slightly different feel (basing on Jap Prologue) but STILL the same old GT missing the same old features it should've had added to part 2 ffs.

GT5 is like a show-car with minimal mods (that count) whereas Forza 2 is the showcar with balls of steel...

I can't beleive it's still the same old shit, it really is just updated visuals, notice the sound? STILL the f**king same looped tire squeel no matter what you do just changing in pitch. Low speed physics STILL shithouse...

The GT5 comments are purely based on being impressed by updated visuals (which are only to be expected)... why else isn't there any comprehensive details, rather just the usual, it's Sony so buy it advice.... lol.

I put a massive post regarding this in your other thread Dean, check it out here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wa...Ca-t209127.html

Explains alot of things, if you have time have a read man... it's worth it in my eyes. This thread response is enough of a indicator alone...

It's like 1/14 recommendation for GT, with 2 other 'mentions' but like 12/14 recommendations for Forza.

And I'm assuming most people on here would have a clue about drift in particular, or at the least, what a car should feel like in a game, and if GT was as good as it's meant to be, the results would be reversed.

Not just that, there is a game better than GT3/4 on PS2 also, if anyone wants to check it out, especially for drift, it's called Enthusia, it's a great and better (in regards to car feel) game than GT4, with slightly less cars/tracks though, but then again who wants anything to do with like 40% of the useless cars in GT anyway?

I've certainly never wanted to race or modify anything like a Kia Carnival around a track... what were these blokes thinking seriously... then again, Japs are funny ass mofos, and even more weird...

Hey mate, really really appreciate ur input on this!

And one BIG BIG BIIGG thing i cant stand is this 'Drift mode, simulator' mode crap on Gran Turismo. It makes me sick! Its meant to be a simulator but u can switch from normal to drift car characteristics without changing anything on the car?? So u just go into drift mode and the car suddenly starts over steering when u turn into bends? I cant stand crap like that.

If u want drift mode, setup the car for it and drift it! If u want circuit do the same thing!

I also agree with every single thing u wrote in my wanted thread especially the part about Need for Speed 1!! lol TOP game for its time!!!

lol no point replying clearly a fanboy

I love the internet.

If you read my post fully mr. tossbag , including the link I included to the OTHER thread with discussion on this, you would've noticed I bought legitimate copies of every GT series game on PS1/2. What a mistake that was, wish I never did, wouldn't of been so disappointed, so don't give me that fanboy crap, I was just too blind to see the usual Sony tactics at play with GT, until it was too late and they had my hard earned money, yet weren't improving the game at all, in fact making it worse at times (GT3 anyone? better than 4, but missing SO MUCH it should've been a prologue) Forza showed me the light and converted me, BECAUSE it's a better game in all areas. Not because it's Microsoft/Xbox and that's for consoles... I've always known, and it is known GENERALLY that you can't beat the PC for a top SIMULATOR. Oh just for your info, I traded my Xbox1 for a PS2 and GT3/4 because I thought they would be worth it, THAT was my biggest mistake actually, I missed out on Forza until LATE in the game, missed lots of good game time because of the let-downs of GT. Played GT4 for quite a while, even have a few entries on GTPlanet for drift comps/photo shoots etc. because I wanted to make the purchase of GT4 worthwhile, even though it wouldn't fully be worth it, but yeah that was only when I wasn't playing the REAL games on PC anyway.

I'm not a big console fan at all anyway - they ARE good for sports games, soccer, nfl, nhl, nrl, olympics and THAT IS ALL, in fact they are KINGS of that genre! But they have no other purpose, they lack in quality regarding even DVD playback, let alone Blu-Ray (was gonna mention HD-DVD, but that's over) and all other games, are better done/played on PC also, COD4 somehow sells amazingly well on an Xbox 360, to my surprise. It's just hilarious though, playing an FPS or even a RTS on a console. I honestly wonder WHY they even release FPS OR RTS games on consoles.

Obviously they make alot of sales somehow though, which is why I pity the fools, that buy those game to attempt to play them on a controller.

P.S. [Michael] - I would STILL love to hear the reply you WOULD'VE posted if I wasn't such a fanboy, and there was no point replying, I'm REALLY interested in hearing your thoughts and why my post is such fanboyism, when you have nothing to counter with, it's all a friendly healthy debate (notice my smiley after my little tossbag comment, I don't mean it in an offensive way) but if you have nothing to say with your comment about me, you shouldn't have posted it at all, because you obviously know there is nothing you can say that will prove me wrong, because I'm not. The fact is, Forza overall (and in particular in regards to physics/car behaviour) is the better game, technically, is it not? :/

So I mean feel free to comment, I still would love to hear your thoughts, and what you withheld from your post, on the assumption that I'm a fanboy. Because I nearly hate MS as much as Sony, they have fu**ed up just as many good series of games/franchises also to be pissed off at, catering for those who will make them the most money, rather than the enthusiasts, loyal fans etc. who got the franchise/game off the ground in the first place.

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
