As you are talking about a warning light on the dash, I would say there is an issue with the 4wd system.

As for more technical reasons I'm sure other know a lot more than I.

yea the 4wd dash light came on and my car felt a little different.

it seams that the rear diff is only working.

when i turn the car off and then turn it back on and drive it goes away??

its funny. its only happend to me twise. It comes and goes.

Yep...

That would be the case, mine was playing up a few weeks ago, it's all good now thought ... 4wd light on, no power to front wheels.

Did you check the fluid reservoir in the boot of the car to make sure it has fluid?

That will certainly stop your ATTESA system from working...

Now you have described in more detail the problem, just try the fuses under the drivers side dash. Similar thing happened to me and it turned out to be the fuse.

As I remember it, it was a 15 amp fuse.
