Hey,

A little bit weird but I need some new bolts for the GTR (and nuts) for my viscous fan coupling.

In the end the Bursons book said the R31 viscous coupling is compatible with R33's but it doesn't fit.

I mean you can bolt it on but the coupling will not clear the pulley behind it, some damage was done to the coupling so I can't take it back for a refund, new plan is to get longer bolts and space it out by 10 or 20mm to allow it to clear the pulley and get closer to the radiator (its sitting a few centimetres away).

Anyway, does anyone know a company that sells bolts on the weekend?

The bolts fit 10mm nuts on them, I need to find out the length which I will know soon.

I do plan to visit Supercheap and Autobarn but not sure if they have them. I know the Melbourne Bolt company is open Monday to Friday, anyone have any suggestions?

Regards,

Gareth

BJ Bearings.

Also theres a place that sells any kind of bolt imaginable on centre rd between springvale rd and westall rd. i go past it everyday on my way to work and they are a regular parts supplier for work but im stuffed if i can remember their name.

Also try Blackwoods but $$$ and i dunno if they are open.

A lot of places might be shut for the weekend dues to easter.

Cheers, Ron

i got 1000000000's of diff bolts from my gtst if anyone needs any car specific type ones

Haha, I'm looking for bolts that the fan viscous coupling attaches to but I need them to be longer than standard :D

So fit 10mm nuts and longer than standard.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions so far. Getting things during the week is hard because I work around 9-6:30PM most days and I want my skyline back now

Looks like there are studs on that pulley and its not going to be easily removed, I will have to delay to Monday now unless :D

Thanks for the help, but I need to find a way to make the R31 viscous coupling fit still....

I've started a new thread here about the issue:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...us-t211451.html

There's a bolt place on Boundary Road, Melbourne Bolts or something like that. Travel west down Lower Dandenong Road towards Boundary Road, once you hit Boundary Road, turn left and the store will be on the right about 100-200m down the road. They should have everything you need.

Not too sure if they're open today, but if you're nearby, doesn't hurt to drop by.

lol i would of taken it back and said it didnt fit and say it was his fault they would of refunded for sure even if it was damaged abit, if they stated "it should fit"

Haha, I don't think its going to work. I've found a few posts on SAU about these fitting, I'm wondering if the other models of R33's are different to the RB26DETT setup on the front....

    • Hello, I'm trying to make this thread basically the thread with all the answers to common questions regarding specifically the RB20 DE NEO + T engine, that comes in the R34. Answers will and only should be provided by those who have done this conversion or actually have some relevant real life experience please. Please feel free to ask questions in the comments if you have any so other members can answer. I feel like this thread is really needed, especially with more Americans buying (unknowingly going to regret it too) rb20 neo r34s. My first question being - What do you guys use for tuning? I have purchased a haltech elite 2500 Plug and play kit for the rb25det NEO because the ecu plug is the same, but I am unsure if any of the pins would need to be repined to match. Second question that I see asked very often - After this conversion, did you install the boost solenoid/ actuator? I see many people doing a + T setup on their rb20 NEOs while running stock RB25DET NEO ECUs with no tune. I am wondering how they are going about doing that and consistently abusing the car because many of these people have had these untuned setups running for a very long time. That was my original plan, but my engine cuts out at 5 psi of boost using the stock ecu with no tune and no boost solenoid/actuator.
    • interesting. ive read and heard otherwise over the past year. ive been doing this +t conversion on a rb20 neo using all oem rb25det neo parts including the ECU, and im having engine cut out issues when I hit around 5 psi of boost. Everywhere/everyone ive asked has told me its because I never wired in a boost solenoid/actuator to the ecu, so the ecu isn't getting the right signal once it hits 5 psi of boost, causing the engine to get shut off.
    • Mate, I take this thread in random directions on occasion myself, so no foul I'm a old fan of MCM anyway, I like their banter, and enjoy most of the stuff they do
    • Something strange is happening. I didn't touch the car since we last spoke on the forums. Yesterday was the first day of good weather, so i took it out for about 2 hours. It started up on first crank every time about 5 times total. I literally didn't do anything to do the car.
    • I purchased this one. Very well priced and works great. I was rough with it to see if it will last and had no issues.  Teslong Two-Way Articulating Borescope with Light, Industrial Endoscope Inspection Camera with Articulated Probe, Flexible Mechanic Fiber Optic Snake Scope Cam for Wall Automotive Engine Inspect-5FT : Amazon.ca: Industrial & Scientific
