Im trying to undo the Rear LHS bolt at the bottom of the strut and it wont budge

I have tried everything

Wrench, Socket, WD40, RP7, ive even put a vice on it and tried banging it with a hammer

I got the other side by putting a socket wrench on it and tapping it with a hammer, but this side just wont move even with the same method

I just dont want to thread the bolt, then im screwed

Is there any other way to get it off

or do i havr to take it to a workshop????

PLS help

i need to get this off tonight!!

there is not really much room

the extension bars only seem to work as an axle, not really as an extra lever

i.e.

the socket wrench is only so long

infact

i just thought

if i can find a pipe or a bar, maybe i could put the socket wrench handle inside it, to make it longer :D

I've always used my hydraulic jack's pole to provide more leverage.

Like Newton said, Torque = Force X Distance.

Edit: I'm not sure if Newton said that. hahaha

Also make sure you're turning it the right way. I remember how I was stupid enough to turn it the wrong way and break the bolt.

with a breaker bar, and an extention over the breaker? Leverage is key :)

What? are my posts only visible to me?

you could try useing the oxy or some heat to break the rust between the threads thats stoppping it coming loose or castrol make this stuff in a can cant remember what its calleds sub freeze or something any way its in a normel size wd40 can or roost off and it just freezes the nut for a few secs when you spray it on to break the rust

I always have a length of heavy guage pipe for special occasions like this...

I used the jack handle for things like this with a really long socket extension (diff bolts), however the socket got stripped, NOT the bolt.

We just had to get another socket and it came out.

yeah thats why you need to use 6 sided sockets when you are doing the tight stuff not a normal 12 sided socket. much less chance of stripping it.

gtrzilla - how did you get it off in the end

i remember i smashed a cheapie socket and then went bought a sidchrome socket set, never looked back :worship:
