dude he's already shown us he doesn't have the right attitude why disrespecting his Dad so much, someone that say F U man im not going to live by the rules you lay down while i live in your house inst going to be the safest driver on the roads

if he cant follow Dads rules and wishes how do you think he's going to go following the speed limit

EDIT and yeah +1 to hostiles words of wisdom

yeh all i was saying is that IF he did have the right attitude i think he'd be fine, and that just because he didnt have much experience didnt mean he wouldnt be able to drive the car safely.

i dont really know what the guy is like, havnt met him in real life so cant really make a proper judgment on that.

you fail to see our point Stewy from his current behaviour he has already put him self in the 98% bracket there no point saying IF that's like saying should'a could'a would'a but didn't

we could argue this till the cows come home isn't going to change the fact that you fall into the very rare bracket while most of the rest of us fall into the classic male syndrome bracket you know big balls'n all :)

haha im not saying i dont go for a thrash, but i think i and a lot of my mates had the right attitude when we got our cars, we didnt go straight out and try to be heroes, we got a feel for our cars, we slowly built up our experience and skills to a point where we were competent drivers and had a good feel for car control. u cant get this experience from doing anything but owning one of these cars and getting a feel for a powerful RWD car's rear end coming out on u, so the best u can do is go in with the right attitude and build up experience.

but yeh, i agree, most young people go in with a wrong attitude, especially people who are considering going with a powerful car because its usually for these reasons:

1. they are buying it because they want something powerful that they can play around with and go fast in

2. because they want to show off to their mates, which will inevitably lead to him showing off to his mates in the car and giving into peer pressure, which if anything is probably more dangerous.

common guys what's with all this talk about P platers crashing their turbo cars because of their attitude and they're too inexperienced?

can't people just be plain old dumb to crash a car no more?

yer i may not have that much knowledge but im not a rev head and i am sensible on the road

Get yaself a GTR mate, one drive and/or one crash and you'll probly realize its too powerful for you and you'll want ya daddy's 5.7lt V8 back :)

But yeh, get a N/A S13, or even a turbo one, probly will be alright with a turbo i'd recon....

sorry mate but i gota agree with your parents.. just start off with something cheap to get use to everyday driving because you'll most likely mess it up a lil and you don't want a nice car wrecked. i started off with a v6 commodore and after that i realized i probly woulda killed myself with anything more... and don't feel to invincible lol i did. :)

well stupidity is the cause of alot of accidents, L, P and full plates included, but alot of P plater crashes no doubt come from a lack of experience. We were all young and bulletproof once, i know i was, i remember trying to let mum let me drive my magna to edithburg based on the fact that i play gran turismo and i understood how to corner. she let me go, lol at mum. :)

hey

i fully agree with all the comments that have been said

that young drivers should learn to drive responsibly and carefully

but in that case that doesnt mean they need to drive a less powerful car i mean there is alot of people getting v8 calais's and all that

i bet you guyz will say that "ow you got a turbo r32 you will crash for sure"

i know i need to work on my attitude while driving and

i will do that learning to control my car and the limits of

steering, accelaration and braking

(EDITED OUT)

lol dont diss the turismo i got all my licenses :)

mind you, the "out-in-out" technique wont work on public roads. but oh well, the principle is important, using the whole corner to maximise your speed

dont speed kids. its wrong.

get a manual NA R33-R34, youll surprise yourself with the power

My opinion - Get a V6 VN or even a VS now they've come down in price. More than enough power to get yourself into some serious trouble.

That was my first car which I'm glad I had. Got all the stupidity out of my system in it and learned what to and what not to do and didn't care too much as it cost less than what my insurance premium is now. You learn all you need to know about understeer/oversteer unexpectedly in one wet night and that has saved me now a few times.

Bought my 33 last year when I was 18 and in hindsight probably wasn't the best move as its costing me 7K per year to keep on the road (Insurance, Rego, Petrol & servicing). Ask yourself if you can afford that while you're at school. On the up side I appreciate my 33 so much more now I know what its like driving something worse and that stops me from abusing it or driving like a tool.

My mum drives a VS and it is a really good car to learn to drive with the steering is nice the accelaration is smooth but

still if you get another car ( probably a turbo Skyline or wateva )you cant drive it like the VS

smaller car means better steering depending on what you got on it

.'. Therefore get used to your new car like i will

    • Ayooo, been a while mates. I have a s2 r33 gtst and air stopped coming out of all the top vents.   My car has always made an actuator gear noise when turning the car on but that's a different issue I think? Did searches and am at process of thinking it's an actuator or some type of motor? I see a few different actuators and don't know which one. Would be nice to know if it was the one that's under the steering wheel so the dash doesn't need to come out.
