I've always wanted to know how to make GIFs. I've tried and failed

Is Adobe Image Ready the software you can use to make them? or is there something better I can download off the net for free for it?

Here is the one as a normal size as well as avatar size. It gets pretty small as an avatar, so I only made the one. Remember to set the size of the avatar to 120x80 so it doesn't stretch

I just searched google for a gif generator. I downloaded something called Easy GIF Animator. Its pretty easy to use. I'm sure there are plenty of others around too
