Hi

I'v just recently purchased an r33 gtst S2 .the previous owner had installed a twin plate clutch to hold the 300rkw but now, after the RWC process, most the power-making mods had to be removed but the clutch remains. I'm sick of it and decided to ditch it for something a lot more drivable.

I have spoken to a clutch specialist who has suggested that I get a Cushion button clutch. I have looked around but can't find any info on Cushion Button clutch. Are they any good? How easy are they to handle? Any information or experience would be awesome.

Have a look in the drivetrain thread, plenty of information on them there.

I for one highly recommend it, got one in my car and its fine to drive, bites nice and hard but still has a little bit of play in it for parking/low speed.

dont know exactly what clutch is was but i drove an S15 with a brass button clutch and lightweight steel flywheel. engaged nicely, a bit harder than stock, but u can ride the clutch with no throttle without it stalling easy enough. however it was noisy when engaging softly

i was gonna reply to your thread but wasnt sure what you meant by your initial question of "friction clutch".

I've got an exedy cushion button and lightened flywheel and I think its great. its not that much heavier than the stocker and engages well. it is quite bity when breaking in and rattles on super low revs but thats normal. clunks abit on reverse but other than that its great. would suit your application well if your not going for big power.
