Checking Coil Packs?

hey guys just wondering whats the best way to check if my coil packs are faulty on an r33..i remember seeing a how to a while back but can't seem to find it...

is it misfiring?

Its do everything under the sun see my previous post about oil in cooler pipes.. basically misfiring, idling very strangely, and blowing smoke out the back which smells like unburnt fuel..

your engine is toast

youve killed a cylinder or sometyhing - blown ringland etc

when your coils die they misfire on boost/load

but idle, run, and perform fine on cruise etc

when it misfires on boost/load it sounds like popping/farting

okay so if I do a copmpression test that should show the cylinder dead yeas.. I shall get on that now..funnily enough under load it does sound like popping or fating as you call it.. just the car doesnt idle right and basically under load blows a shit load of white smoke out the exhaust which my mechanic says is definately unburnt fuel.. he just gave me a few home tests to do before I hand it to him to have the engine pulled apart.. so yeah..
