ok guys here goes, ive read all the posts and looked at all the pictures, but seriously need to know how difficult this is going to be? ive got a hoist and some tools, i feel that i may need to go grad some miscilaneous tools but honestly how hard is it going to be to change the gear box in my 32 gtr. ive had a look and my main concern is the 2 bolts on top of the box below the head but previous posts tell me that once the back of the box is dropped the motor will tilt back enough to get an extention in there and remove them, the only problem i have with this is, will i need to remove all the cooler piping and stuff or will it be ok??

any tips or hints?

thanks heaps

the hardest thing about GTR gearbox's i think are the starter motor bolts cause they come through the front

A short 14mm stubby spanner is good or a series of extensions and wobble joints from the front can do it too

Once you drop the rear gearbox mount you can get to the top bolts easy, the motor can tilt back enough to get to the bolts. The engine fan may hit the shroud

Long 1/2" bar and a wobble does it with ease

There pretty heavy too so a transmission stand ain't a bad investment, or a few ppl can lift it out too

Enjoy changing your box! :action-smiley-069:

yeah gearbox isn't tooooo bad.

starter motor bolts are probably the hardest, you need a 14mm stubby spanner.

for the top bellhousing bolts undo the gearbox crossmember let it hand as low as possible. then 4x1' extensions and a uni joint will get you to the top bolts easiest.

undo speedo drive and attessa pipe (you will loose all attessa fluid unless you can block it).

thats about it.
