Just wanting some feedback regarding splitfire coils, i have an R34 GTR V-Spec II and an opportunity from a friend to get some Splitfire Coils for free (payment for money owed). Are they a worthwhile upgrade for a GTR or are the factory coils good enough? Planning on making 400ish hp and the wheels eventually!

Thanks all!

They are worth it, if your stock coils are on their way out.

That said, if you are getting them for free (effectively) then go for it!

Well they are in good condition i assume, from a 2001 GTR but i guess i won't know until tuning happens!

New'ish R34 coils are should be fine for your 300rwkw plans.

Get the bugger to pay you back in cash :P

Thanks for the info! I may as well sell the buggers then, i just thought as a free item if it would boost performance id use them. Sounds like id be wasting my time to a degree though! Thanks :stupid:

dont do it man. people who buy them when u dont need them do it for the wank factor. end of story..

the only time u need to buy them is when u have been diagnosed with coilpack failure by a mechanic, then u need them. stock coil packs can handle 350+kw. ask r31nismoid.

and there are dozens of threads here that have problems with them too.
