Besdies i think thats where you meant to jack it.. as i cant recall anywhere else u can...

Unless you got a hoist.

seems to be more noticeable after jacking it up

or do gtr diffs just sound like this :worship:

Oh BTW Orion, get a Rear Wheel Alignment done.

Cuz you have change the rear suspension, its put the geometry out of whack and needs to be done cuz its 4WD.

But I don't think that will help with the whirring noise. Or it might...

But when you jacked it up at the diff, I don't think you would have crushed or bent anything in the diff...

Anyway get ya mechanic to check it out.

My diff made a similar noise when rolling and while driving. Sounded like a Wwhhoooo noise. So I got it reconditioned.

I still got the receipt for my rear diff

About $1380, thats recondition, installed ready to drive and it was not as much as I thought too.

But get it check out 1st.

I did it at Le Mans Automotive in Templestowe.

You would of snapped a cooling fin before doing internal damage to the diff..

Not form the jacking.

Sure your not just Paranoid?.. Happens to me too..

Whirring diffs seem to be common threads in this section.

Just seems like their noisy from factory.

Best advise is change the diff oil.. see the condition its in and put a higher quality product in. See how that goes..

People jump to recondition diffs/'boxes too quicky.

For that price you may aswell buy an after market LSD.

    • Thanks Mate, I did know you could do that but i know there is a pump out there that you can bolt on and it all lines up. I was told about it and then forgot the model, I figure if i am pulling it apart i will just put a new one on
    • You can also remove the veins from the HICAS portion of your existing pump.
    • Trying to swap the rear subframe on my R34 and can't remove the L-shaped stay brackets between the front subframe mounts and the sill/chassis. I'm in the UK so rust is a problem. I've used loads of WD40 and then Tunap 103 for days beforehand. I backed off the bolts forward a bit, backward a bit repeatedly for ages to try and avoid snapping. They have all moved a few full turns. The one I've spent most time on has come loose and I can turn with fingers, and it will pull down and push up 2-3mm. But it won't come out. I can tighten it back up and loosen it off again repeatedly but it still won't come out. I assumed there's a captive nut inside but if that's broken loose then I can't understand why I can always tighten the bolt back up - I'd expect it to just spin both ways. Any ideas what's happening here? I can't visualise what's inside there to cause this.
