If you have a 100 or 101 chipset (the middle numbers on the bottom your your unit serial number) then it is $120, if you have a newer unit with 102 or 103 serial it is $190. Both varieties take 1 day.

Hi all, check xpunked.com.........

Ohhh and this is for South Australian readers only, sorry!!!!

Andrew did mine for $90 or something like that.

Also its worth knowing that there are a few different types of Wii hardware setups (the older wii's) are easier to mod and will cost you less ($50 - $60).

The newer wii's will cost you a little more at about $90. You can sit and watch it being done if your into that kinda thing or just drop it off. Andrews pretty chilled out about it all!

Ohh and i also had my xbox (original one) chipped for $50 which was an awesome investment. Popped a 750 GB HDD in it and its got all my movies, music, pics and programs on it. Awesome console now with great interface and programs, id highly reccomend doing this mod for any of the xboxers out there!!!

Regards, Evan

when u have a wii chipped is it like xbox putting games on a hard drive or burnt cd's? i assumed its not as reliable cause i didnt know any 1 that had 1 but i guess im mistaken.

u guys get many probs with em? might look at getting mine done

^^^ Wii's don't have hard drives, and I have never heard of one with a hard drive, but if it did that would be very cool.

No, no problems, but I have found that mine is fussy on DVD brand, but have found a couple of brands now that work perfectly.

i guess sled that you and i are too old to understand english nowdays :-)

cheers mid life crisis

Ha, ha, yeah good point.

I tried pasting Kietz's quote into an online english translator but my computer froze as soon as I did it. So I kicked it and it came back with alien language and all these little green men jumped out of my speakers.

Sorry for taking the piss Kietz.......its all good fun. :)

just thought id drag up the past and add does anyone have trouble burning the games? my friend just got his chipped and the guy that did it was saying you need special software installed on your pc and a certain dvd burner to be able to make the games if your copying from an original disk.

sounds like hes just trying to con $8's a disk off my mate :w00t:

yep, burning backup games (which is quite legal since I own the originals and am just backing up my originals so I don't wear out/scratch the original disks) is a royal pain in the ass. I haven't tried to copy an original game, as it is just too difficult - yes you need special software to manipulate the iso once you have made it, before you image it onto a blank disk. And yes you need an LG burner of specific model to do it. Once someone has copied the game, you can them straight copy it. BUT you need to use certain brands/types of blanks too - the ones I have had the most success with ids the Target brand 'Base', and TDK DVD-RW disks. Even then some work and some don't work - it is quite hit and miss.

Even if one were to download Wii games, you have to use the correct brand/type blanks and again I hear is very hit and miss.
