grandmasterb
Ok so im almost at the stage where my car will need a complete retune since being off the road for over 2 years In its time off since the last motor let go a new fresher motor has been dropped in and a few more mods What im after is an experienced RB/PFC tuner be it based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane that would be willing to come to Tassie to tune the car to save me the drama's towing it to Melbourne. I would pay airfares obviously (hell of alot cheaper than towing the car over) your time and if need be accomodation. I can organise the use of a dyno or track to tune which ever is preferred. What im after is anyone that would be keen to do so and a rough per hour charge so i can start sorting things out. The car/set up is as follows: 1990 R32 GTS-t RB20 motor with stock internals TD-06 20g L2 (10cm) - 47mm GReddy gate HYBRID GT FMIC HKS 264 cams TOMEI 555 injectors Nismo fuel pump Z32 Just Jap oil cooler and relocation kit APEXI power intake PFC This thread is purely to gauge interest if anyone (with relative experience) to tune the car that would be keen to come down, could maybe work it in as a little "see the Apple Isle" trip if keen I know people will say its a long way to travel just to tune one car and that who ever does it would be loosing $$$'s but thought i would through it out there and see, you never know if you dont ask Please reply/PM if you are said person Cheers Ben Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/212806-looking-for-a-tuner/ Share on other sites

After talking with him no as i think i can get more out of the set up from another tuner Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/212806-looking-for-a-tuner/#findComment-3759285 Share on other sites
ArBe20
I reckon unbiased people like you who have worthy grounds to justify your reasoning are awsome, hard to find in Tassie these days. Good luck with it. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/212806-looking-for-a-tuner/#findComment-3759383 Share on other sites
Simon-S14
Might be worth calling Jeff from The Speed Lab and put forward your request to him. He is an awesome tuner when it comes to RB motors. Plus i know theres a few other tassies who want work done by him so the trip could be justifiable. Jeff's number is in my sig, he is based in SA. Cheers cobber, Kuc helped me with my old Nissan powered Datto and also did the tuning and i was very happy with the results given what he had to work with After talking with him about my set up neither of us felt completely confident that we could attain the results im looking for but who knows how things will end up, if i cant find anyone keen i will more than likely let him run wild with it. Hey Simon i spoke with Jeff a couple of times last year and found him very helpful but have since decided to go with the PFC and do away with the remap from Dr Drift. Cant hurt to give him another call though but im not sure how many of the other guys would be requiring tuning work form him as most have switched to PFC and sought tuning from GT Garage Cheers Ben Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/212806-looking-for-a-tuner/#findComment-3760546 Share on other sites

grandmasterb
what are the results the others guys cant attain that you are hoping for i play with loads of L2's... pm is fine. It wasn't so much the use of the L2 it was using the cams i've chosen and the tuner recommending not running them but run cam gears instead. Main reason behind this i believe is that he's spent more time tuning with cams gears and not cams as he pointed out it could take some time. Im hoping for around the 220/230rwk mark but hopefully with the cams helping boost come on a little earlier. Im not really looking for a magic number as such, but better drive ability with a good curve that i can overlap with driving the car on the road/track without being too aggressive and just winding more boost/timing to do so The old set up (prior to cams, injectors, Z32) it was pushing 205rwk at 14psi but given the size of the housing it was a little laggy but LOVED to rev Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/212806-looking-for-a-tuner/#findComment-3760655 Share on other sites

The Mafia
hey mate, still haven't finished it as the owner like to do things a little slow. Going well, but it needs a new fuel pump. AS soon as he gets one in and I've fully tuned it I will let you know. Individual tune prices could be worked out at a special rate if you got enough. we would leave fri and return monday. i have to do a similar thing in sydney for a few Drifters. cheers Trent Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/212806-looking-for-a-tuner/#findComment-4151441 Share on other sites

R31Nismoid
Ben surely you could config the PFC enough to get it running on a Z32 and injectors, enough to drive it over to the buckets of tuners here. They would even no doubt help you over the phone to set it all up would be my thinking Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/212806-looking-for-a-tuner/#findComment-4151662 Share on other sites
