Water Temp Sensor

hi, ive got a quick question i have an aftermarket water temp gauge with the sensor, at the moment the sensor has been T'd in to the top pipe of the radiator. Can i move the sensor to the bottom pipe of the radiator instead? and try to get it as close to the engine as possible, is this ok to do? or would it not give me an accurate water temp?

Some advice would be good please

The water in the bottom radiator hose will be at its coolest. As long as you recognise that fact, there's no reason why you can't fit the sensor there.
