The last time i used my R32 GTR all worked fine, but today it would not start (it tried to start but no sound from the fuel pump) I checked fuses and connections, all seemed ok. I then hot wired the fuel pump and the engine started and ran as normal but as soon as the hot wire was removed the engine stalled. The only thing that has been changed since the last outing was the instrument pack ??? Any help PLEASE !!!

My R32 had this issue. I just hotwired the pump to the battery and ran a fuse just before the connection. Their is nothing wrong with this. Your pump probably isnt getting good voltage. My pump was getting 9v but my battery output was 14v once I put the inline wire and fuse it worked fine...

Thanks Aaron for your suggestion. I will use your direct wire system. Clive

Thanks Tacker. I took your advice and changed it over with a spare one I happened to have, but its still the same problem. Does the ECU control the pump (the 2 speed thingy) I have a Apexi PFC

Please does anyone else have any ideas on what could cause this problem. I dont think its a low voltage issue. Its more a no voltage issue when the ignition is switched on and cranking the engine over. Thanks for any advice.

very likely to be a problem with the fuel computer if its not the relay. either check the voltage there or just rewire it and bypass the computer like everyone else does.

there is a detailed thread somewhere about fuel pump direct feed re-wire.

There's an ECU that controls the fuel pump - yours has probably died. Same thing happened to my GTR. I opened up the unit and found a dry solder joint and burnt pin. Its located behind the trim on the drivers side in the back seat. It receives signals from the main ECU. There was are "what are these" thread a week ago that had pictures of it. Searchy.

EDIT the thread is HERE top picture
