Ok,

For a bout a week my central locking on the drivers side has been shakey. Sometimes it unlocks/sometimes it doesnt - but the key and manual unlocking still works. I pulled off the trim and was examing it. The manual locking and unlocking is fine, however, when the servo (or whatever) tries to push it up looks like it simply doesnt have the force (i can assist it by pulling it up pretty easy). When it tries to pull it down after it hasnt raised fully it makes a wirring/clicking noise as it tries to pull it down after its already down. So I guess I need to replace they pushing/pulling doohicky?

Anyone else had the problem? feedback?

Cheers,

Pen

Maybe its worn, just go to Jaycar and get an aftermarket one..

for starters its new and usually abit stronger too

in some rare cases your central locking unit could be stuffed and not supplying enough current to the solenoids, due to a stuffed relay or so.

  • 1 month later...

mines bein playing up for awhile now too..

mine unlocks and locks every time thou..

but make's a pretty load buzzing/click sound wen unlocking/locking...

my friend told me to take the door trim of and look just above the door actuator..

there u'll c two bars from the electronic actuator that go to the main bar/rod..

but one bar is connected by a little screw..and next to that is another 2 screws..

all screw are the same size..

he said to adjust the the single screw side..and either move the bar up or down..and adjust till the sound was gone..

he said it solved his problem..of the central locking click/buzzing sound...

though it did not work for me :P

has anyone else fixed this problem before??????????????

If its noisey its the solinoid (thing that does the pushing/pulling) is prolly on its way out. Try disconnecting it from the lock assembly and see if it still makes the noise. If it does you have isolated the problem to being the solinoid. If not you can move the other parts by hand until you find the one thats noisey. :)
