What do you need to do the sprints. Is it the same as the drags, helmet, long sleeve shirt, long pants and enclosed shoes or do you need a race suit and shoes ?

Im pretty keen once I get the car soughted to bring her out for a run.

what you have said is all you need, a race suit is not necessary.

PS how did people go?

I had a freakin fantastic time. I'm really happy with my times, I ran a 68.4, with my pretty standard 34GTT. (fmic, cai, 3" exhaust, tein type RA's, street tyres)

In my first time out there...nervous as hell... I flog it out of the pits hit the first corner at about 120 and pull off a 720 degree spin lol... I was a bit scared of that corner for the next few laps hehe.

I was probably one of the slower cars there, but i still had a great time. It makes me think about spending lots more and grabbing an oil cooler and semi slicks...but I dont think I would be out there enough to make it worth it.

Lakeside was dead set magical. As good a Phillip Island for sheer rush, it just keeps throwing itself at you so fast you have little time to deal with one corner before you need to concentrate for setting up the next. Easily one of the top 2 dedicated tracks in the country. It has been 21 years since I last raced Formula Ford there.....even scarier now I'm old and not bulletproof anymore :whistling:

Be interesting to see how all the lap times compare since the surface tratment on the track. Has anyone done a before and after compare without modifying their car ? I have started new hall of fame for the Time Attack guys so that all records are on the same surface as such.

a mate of mine who runs there all the time and has been stuck in the low 61 for the past few meets, set a new PB of 60.5. so the sealing doesn't seem to have hurt the track at all. he hasn't changed the car, but has lost 12kg himself, which wouldn't hurt but I doubt its responsible for the time improvement.
