hey guys, my car GTT R34 is having constant popping or backfire which im not sure whether this is exactly called backfire. The only reason why im not sure is cuz im so definite that the sound is coming from the front pipe area and not exactly from the end of the muffler.

Regardless, as i constantly have this sound every gear change throughout the day, would it cause any issues later in the long-run? Such as molds in the pipe to affect performance in a bad way?

Thanks in advanced guys

Popping from near the front pipe? Does it sound like their is an exhaust leak? Check your gaskets etc.

Well im pretty sure the BOV is the cause of the pops, but i just have no idea why the sound is coming more like near the cat area rather than at the end of the muffler...would gasket leaks or exhaust leaks result in pops also btw? thanks for the reply

start the car in the morning, then get someone to put there hand over the tailpipe to block it while you listen in the general area of the "popping" - this should elt you hear any leaks in the exhaust.

Backfires and popping screwed my new cat a while back, shattered the rear brick and it shifted in the housing causing a huge restriction and performance loss.
