Scum Of The Earth Caught On Camera Stealing Turbo From Jap Parts Plus Please Help.

Recommended Posts

Some real tossers out there, no respect.

Perhaps it might be worthwhile posting details on the turbo/manifold in case they try and sell it on.

If it doesn't end up turning up, perhaps we could organize a cruise to try and raise some funds for the poor guy? (assuming workshop insurance doesn't cover this loss)

Thats bull shit. f**kheads should be punished!! Hope you get those barstards. I've got an idea. Hand cuff them and bring them on the next cruise. Show them how much we like people like that :/. f**kheads! I'm an apprentice mechanic myself, so I know how hard it is to save up for things like that!

just an idea, would it be worth calling around workshops to let them know that someone has stolen the turbo and ask them to keep their eye out for it..

cos if they are smart, they wont sell it, and if they are lazy they might book their car in somewhere to get it fitted...

is this a possibility or am i being naieve?

Bit of an update I spoke to the guy in the car behind the ute as he remembered the car and he is part of the Silvia scene so he knows what he is talking about and he said the black stickers are Nismo ones on the front and rear panel but it also had a sticker off a Silvia forum on the QTR window so they are making it easier to find them, also they took a stock SR20 T25 with a new X-Force low mount manifold.

Lucy you are not being Naive we think they are that stupid they will try to sell it on a forum or get a workshop to fit it and knowing how quick the word is getting out that wont happen.

Tristian thanks for the idea as that alone is worth a lot but it is covered, it is comments like that which give him confidence people will look out for these tossers.

Their days are numbered they should stick to Mars Bars from K-Mart....

my eyes will be peeled as well.

Esp with the new info, easier to identify the guys car.

Camera will be in my car ready to snap the rego plate. =)

I don't live down Maddington way but keep an eye on local car washes and fools with stupid hats and pulling wikky wikky yo! finger gestures at you.

lol, just read some more posts about word getting around, they have no chance of selling or installing at a workshop and by the sounds of the manifold, if they somehow install it themselves, the car and manifold will be distinguishable enough to find it really easily

hhahaha, don't worry little apprentice dood, your getting this thing back very soon :D

where's the pics of them with the goods?

posting this is all well and good if you had evidence of them with the stolen property.

I feel sorry for the innocent guys in similar cars.

Got Rocket Scientist one on various cameras walking out the front door around the cars and over the fence with it then Rocket Scientist two left later, their is a lot of shots showing them walking out with the parts as per the one below but only wanted to post a few up.

Thanks for posting that pic...I can see him carrying something now.

I would love to post movies on You Tube but not possible so if I am very bored I will dump a whole load of still shots and make it into a shitty movie.

All of the support and comments is appreciated but remember not all badly dressed lanky guys driving two tone S13's with black stripes and NissanSilvia.com stickers on the rear qtr windows are the scum we are looking for just a certain one and his mate.

    • Thanks Dose.....    I appreciate it!!
    • I'll probably be putting the shit box back on the dyno again soon, I want to dial in the closed loop boost control properly. I'll have a camera facing the car/motor for fun too. Just note, there are essentially 3x 10AN inlets going into the catch can and 1x going back to the intake pipe. Most of the time the catch can "return" to the sump actually is the crank case breather, pushing air out.
    • I have the R3C with a Nismo slave and by no means does it behave like a stocker, it ain’t THAT bad. On take off just give a bit more throttle than you would say a coppermix and it’s fine. It will not slip though.
    • Okay. Final round of testing done. Got a friend to hook up a fancy scanner to the car and we also ran some compression and leakdown tests, she is healthy.  The MAF was definitely the culprit. So for future reference anyone with similar issues that find this thread. I suggest the following steps, in order of affordability:   Check your spark plugs for any fouling, replace plugs if they are bad or re adjust the gaps making it narrower (0.8mm would be good). Check every coil's resistance with a multimeter. It can be done by probing the IB and G pins on the coil pack. Resistance should be around 1.4 (+/- 0.1) Ohms Check the MAF. If you have Nissan connect or a good scanner with the 14 adapter it should allow you to see the voltage on the MAF reading should be around 1.1 - 1.2V when car is idling. But if you don't, buy a new MAF from Amazon and test, then return it. (For instance, I got a Chinese one for $40 that was reporting 1.3v on idle). If you still have scanner, you can run tests on the injectors to see if they are working, just remember to unplug the fuel pump fuse/relay and have no pressure on the line. Then listen for the noises that the injectors make. Clean/replace injectors as needed. Once you find the issue and fix, order thousands of dollars worth of OEM parts to refresh unrelated things (Optional)   PS: Thanks to the absolute legends of this forum for the responses and help to someone that went a bit over their head. (me)
    • Ha ha ha, so they stopped the bearings spinning on the one you want, but then decided the crank hub should slip instead 😛   Stick to RB, at least you can work on it yourself. And now it doesn't smell of vapour   Also I still believe there's a chance your new flap doesn't "pop", as even though the engine might breath hard, it has a direct path with no restriction to the inlet, which when on boost should pull a bit of suction for you. If you do get pressure in the catch can id be very intrigued. Time to put a boost gauge on it, and a session at the track, then solid cover your vent and do another session
