Hey guys,

To start, I have an R34 GT-t,

I've noticed that after a long weekend of cruising and such that suddenly the car seems to shudder slightly when driving, this occurs from the moment i start driving so it irrelevant to whether the car is warm or cold.

After some reading/research i've come to the conclusion that it is the coilpacks, the car has done around 83,000 kms and as far as i know the coil packs have not been changed thus far.

And i believe that generally speaking, the stock coil packs usually give out around 60-70,000kms, further strengthening my belief that they are the problem.

Now i have 2 questions regarding this:

1. Is it safe to still drive the car for a week or so until i get together the money for some new coil packs.

2. Are they difficult to install, ie: can i do it myself, or is it best to leave it to a pro?

any feedback would be appreciated,

Thanks

Steve

It will be fine to drive the car.. as far as u are aware they havent shutdown yet.. just dont put the car under excessive stress..

Installing them is a little bit time consuming, have to have to take off / take appart a few things, best bet is to find a "how to" guide on doing the spark plugs. will tell u exactly what to do.

May as well change the plugs while u are there too.

Platinum plugs are spose to be good for around 100,000kms i am lead to believe,

best bet is to have a look at them when u are doing the work and if u think they need replacing then go ahead and do it.

I only have copper plugs in my car but im going to be changing them every 10-20,000 kms.
