Having your license is like having sex on Tap.. Good sex.. Hot sex.

You lose that, and you can have all the blow up dolls, vaso and porn you can buy to replace the real thing, but in the end, after you've left your load in that plastic bitch, and wiping your wang before you turn off that porn, you will think about how much you miss real hot poontang.

Imagine the scene where they are in the bar in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It is a bit like that with added paranoia.

Currently 11 months into a two year suspension. Couple of close calls with the cops. Gets the heart racing in a bad way. It was fun visiting Australia to drive legally.

I lost mine for 2 months a few years ago... a good solicitor got me off a 12month dq...

i did a huge boot install on my old 32, the misses LOVED driving it whilst i couldnt, she was afraid to boost it.... otherwise i generally hit the cans pretty damn hard every weekend, always had mates to drive me around (sometimes in my car)... but it was just that general pain in the ass freedom of going where you want to when you want to i guess...

Good mate lost his licence, moved in with me as we work together and I drove him around, even to drop off his one night stands at the train station. He owes me. Big time. Like naming his first born after me...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Funniest comparison ever. Definitely true though. I am serving my 5th 3 month suspension (I never learn that owning an import is practically illegal no matter how you drive) and I have 4 weeks left. Only thing I can suggest is going to the drags and track days, get your fix and stay off the road! Drags definitely help me get through it.

I have a few friends that have lost their licence and been caught driving whilst disqualified... That's when you get into serious shit. Losing it for 3 and not driving is better than risking losing it for 6 - 12 months or 2 years for nothing.

driving disqualified is a shocker.... i got done 7 months thru my suspension in a one off situation..... had court about it 3 weeks ago and i got off on a good behaviour bond

This thread has taught me that skylines and liscences dont mix lol. For those who are serving massive sentences like 12 months + wtf did you do? I was doing 93 in a 60 and then ran a red light while on Good behaviour.

im about to lose my lic i had it for 2 and losing it for 6. its the most thing ever when you have crap public transport all i can say is dont be a retard there is a time and a place for everything if your a p plater like me and think your cool cause you have all these mods to be faster you will get caught and you will be sorry take the shit off and invest in suspensions and safety upgrades do everythin legally because everytime you drive tht car you will always be watching you back never sure if you will come home wih no lic and a huge fine like me 700 and 8 pionts is not cool when you have to pay it off on casual wage and getting to work on a bus then walking a few k trust me i realised this after i lost it just use common sense guys.

Currently in my 2nd year without a licence, got caught driving while disq and i had a little to drink apparently the police and judge dont like that sort of thing and lost my licence till further notice and went to jail for 2 weeks!!!

havent driven since! massive lesson learnt.. can apply for it back- june this year...

ha ha-its an experience that i never thought id find out about! especially when you are there for 2 weeks backpacking as they say!

could of been worse i guess and wouldnt want to go back, so i have been very good since!

      Gday, Due to not finding much up to date info on this topic I thought I'd make a thread to get peoples latest opinions/recommendations. Background info -  I've got a S1.5 R33 GTST as a fun project car, mainly for street use and occasional drag strip, apart from all the cosmetic things I'll be doing a full rebuild of the engine with forged internals. Since it'll be getting new cams (kelford) and springs to match I thought I might as well get new lifters and valves while I'm at it, the dash says 160k KMs but the engine seems pretty tired, compression measures about 130psi across all cylinders so I'd like to freshen everything up. This is where I'm tempted to just fork out the extra and go solid lifters while it's all apart, aiming for 400-450kw atw with a flex tune. Assuming all supporting mods (oiling, fuel and all bolt ons) with a lightly ported head and turbo to match (yet to make a decision possibly gtx3582r or similar from Hypergear) I've seen the Tomei kits with just the buckets getting around, Supertech sells most things - Supertech High Performance Cam Followers | Trusted Racing Cam Followers Questions -  Has anyone found the Hydraulic lifters to limit them at this power level? Is it usually found that you can just clean the stock lifters and find they work fine?  Does going solid lifters save any headaches/issues with hydraulic lifters in the future? Any recommendations on other things that will need to be replaced, I know I'll need to get the solid profile cams but can you use the same type of valves and springs/retainers and is it recommended to change the guides and stem seals?    Summary -  Basically looking for pros/cons and wanna know if I'll actually need the extra RPMs from solid lifters or it'll just be bragging rights to say it ReVs OvEr 8000 Cheers

      Ha ha ha, this stuff they had was installing Toshiba PLCs that were made some time in the 1990s, and they were replacing GEM80 PLCs. To let those two talk (staged upgrade along a ~1.2km long building that was split into 4 sections), was a bunch of WinXP machines running Java gateways... There was no way to put something like ProfiSafe in... Most of the HMI machines were WinXP, with Java program, with a custom button board emulating a keyboard... About the only buttons in the operator stations that went direct to the PLCs was the eStop. There was some interesting design stuff in that place...

      Check for fuel flow out of the outlet end of the rail. Check for spark. Try to start with aerostart (or pressure can brake cleaner or similar solvent in a car) prayed in through TB. If you have fuel and you have spark and it will fire on substitute fuel, then seriously suspect that E85 sitting for ages in your fuel system has destroyed something and put it in your injectors.
