Get the GT-R!

Not likely, Pete. Its pretty much down to an evo wagon now. Ive seen some nice examples on the net in the last couple of days for under 28k. That thing should sell damn quick once its in Oz and i know without doubt that i wont lose a penny on it.

Im not going to spend 50k on a mint GTR only lose 20k when it gets there.

Evo wagon...Probably the safest choice... not the car that i wanted the most but, meh, im not complaining. :D

FD RX7...

all I can say is f**king Jetstar, what a pack of f**king gay f**kf**ks. But FINALLY I am back in this stupid country.

You should have known that from the start Lorry. What did they do to you?

Oh and FD, nope, not an option but that car is horn.

No it hasnt.

Ive come to a decision. Its going to be an evo wagon.

Im on the hunt and looking at a few different examples. There are quite a few on the market at the moment oddly enough even though they only made 2500 of them, 400 of those are MR models so, that will narrow things down quite nicely.

Golden week in Japan is coming up so im aiming for an April purchase. Ill have 10 days off to get used to driving it.

Im so stoked.

Yeah, Omar...cereal has been pretty negative in the past. He seemed to be speaking for all of us which i didnt like..so...

anyways, yeah im pretty happy and confident with the choice ive made.

Ill post some pics of the car once ive chosen it.

Thanks to those who helped with the decision.

you'll want to get in quick - unless you are lucky to buy in the same ken, as the paperwork can take a while

I signed the contract on this today:

Haha, looks like we'll both be bringing wagons back. :D

Yes, im looking for a car in Tokyo and thats where most of them are so thats a good thing.

I dont think its ugly. Unless you were referring to the evo? :D

Point is and i know someone mentioned it before, is that these two wagons are among the rarest cars in Australia and as such they are a sure bet.

No doubt about it and ill take 'em ugly warts and all.

Yeah, shame it's four hours away!

It's not about liking the car (that's dangerous! I can vouch for that from experience), it's about the $. That said, I've had a JDM forester before and absolutely loved it - they are sensational. Looking forward to seeing how the 2.5L goes.

I have to have four doors, and I wanted an evo, but the only ones making $ are evo 8MR and above, and I couldn't quite justify pushing the budget that far.

    • Yeah it was a good result, and confirming the car is full of fluids and all interior etc in, other than fuel. I think a few pages back (maybe many pages!) he mentioned some serious lightening in the doors with the chassis punch, might have been done elsewhere I hadn't seen yet too
    • He still had the suspension dialled in for him! I would have sworn the lowest weight he ever got to was 1300kg though Maybe Neil had been drilling a LOT of holes somewhere you haven't found yet... 😛 Or has he also drained all the gearbox and diff oil out too, between it, and a tank full of fuel there's about 65kg to 70kg to add back in I'd guess. 😛
    • Yeah this isn't a super complex shape, but I was still happy to buy instead of fab version 1; very little in a modern can is a flat surface, and that is true here again - the undertray has about 50mm in height differences that I would have had to work out myself. I will probably make something more substantial before it does any rally, I don't think 1mm steel is too much use as a bash plate. There is also cooling to think about, Z1 have done a bit of development and have some air holes and louvers in the shape, will see how that works out too
    • If it's been tuned idle rpm can be changed.
    • Very slightly as there are bars connecting both sides of the ramp. The only difficulty that I had was doing the gearbox, everything else so far has been ok
