MADGT4
Evo Wagon No one has one and you will more than likely be able to ask a PREMO price when and if it comes times to sell. Plus the fact they look sick! You can get a 34 anytime! akeenan
did we read the thread? m3gtr, i think a lot better decision than a euro car. if it was me I would have bought an evo wagon . none the less im happy you finally made up you mind and proved me wrong that it wasnt simply a pipe dream Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/213389-vote-for-m3gtrs-ride/page/7/#findComment-3800659 Share on other sites

Easier to move, bigger market and less selling to do. Also dont forget it looks better! Either way, decisions been made. Congratulations on your new ride! Take care of it and dont do anything silly. Also dont forget it looks better! Either way, decisions been made. Congratulations on your new ride! Take care of it and dont do anything silly. I have to disagree. The s203 and s204 are the only wrx that are viable at the high end of the market (otherwise you are just competing with the sti market - the only way to sell is to price low - becomes very risky). The s203 and 4 are not cheap cars. The Forester STi is NOT available in Australia - never has been, never will be (subaru won't do it, RAWS/SEVS is a no go). Therefore you have a relatively cheap car which actually does have a big market - there aren't many other performance vehicles in this format. On my last few trips back I've been really surprised at the number of modified foresters getting about. The evo wagon is a great option, but it's another million yen before you start looking at nice, manual examples. The buyer is getting finance to get this car - best to minimise the risk, first time out. Sensible choice. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder eh? Cheers, Ken. Ive been waiting for a car for years. I think i made the right choice. As Brian was saying, these things are very rare and desirable...Only 6 in Oz atm. Were taking delivery next week. I cant wait! I really did want the Evo and i was at the point where i was this close *pinches fingers* to getting one but as has been mentioned, I would have to add another million on top of what i spent to get one and only a manual wouldve been sufficient. As it was this Fonzie ticked every box and was a really good price. I couldnt pass it up. HotPlates
I think what really settled matters for me were a number of different things...Firstly, the car is a wagon so it has plenty of room. The missus and I, plus another couple, can head off camping in it no problem, chuck the gear in the back. Secondly, its 4wd so it can go anywhere, anytime and it'll be perfect for ski trips up to Nagano next season. I don't mean to nit-pick, but the Forester is AWD not 4WD. There's a big difference, with the main one being that an AWD can't go "anywhere". It is limited. Whereas a 4WD can tackle almost anything. Laurence
AWD is a marketing term. The car is 4WD... It is like saying that a Skyline isn't 4WD, it is ATTESA. m3gtr
To be fair to hotplates, hes probably thinking along the lines of the car not being a landcruiser or Pajero..not like i intend to take the Fonz thru mountainous terrain, lol. m3gtr
Its being delivered tomorrow. Surprisingly, the red tape wasnt too much of a hassle... I have to say, buying a car sight unseen was a bit sketchy. Ill post up some pics and a vid or 2 when the Fonz gets here. Laurence
Dealer car, you get the convenience but you pay for it. What sealed the deal for you on this car... you seemed to be very fussy then bang, Subie. m3gtr
Dealer car, you get the convenience but you pay for it. What sealed the deal for you on this car... you seemed to be very fussy then bang, Subie. I know. It was sudden. I was dead set on the evo as you know and then Brian mentioned the ride he signed for, i goo netted it, crapped myself, and that was that! My decision evolved thanks in part to this thread. I found the Fonz within 15 minutes of searching goo and went hell for leather to get it in the driveway. It was a full million yen cheaper, was a rare, quick and desirable wagon, 4wd ( or is that AWD? ), has a 6 speed manual, brembo 4 pots on the front 2 on the back, is in great condition - 13000 kays, one owner with books, service history, no accidents, factory warranty, 2 years shaken...colour is great...what more could i have wanted? Itll also blow most cars away up in the hills and in the wet... 100 in under 5 seconds is blitzing it. It was perfect. m3gtr
The car has arrived and ive taken it for a bit of a run today. Drives really well, plenty of power and torque. The 6 speed is excellent - great throw, snicks into gear smoothly, heaps of space, interior is immaculate -smells like new...exterior also. Its minimalist functional inside the car - alacantra seats are awesome, very supportive and comfortable - no lumbar support is a bummer for me but then the passenger doesnt get tilt either, so... Its not high on luxury but then again i was only buying a 23k car. Im not overawed by the power or its delivery and the exhaust note could do with some more burble... I think with any Subie owner, the first upgrade is a big zorst. I found out today, this is an ex demo, 1 owner car. It looks well maintained and Im entirely satisfied. Ill post pics tomorrow. I was too busy driving today.
