Actually i was at Elsternwick Audi looking/drooling over the R8 with my son, and telling him about how Mr P1 will/should have one soon. Not 5 minutes later Mr P1 rang.... cut forward a few hours later, and my son (and his dad :) ) has his first ride in a Massa QP. :thumbsup:

I know all about things nor going to plan…..

Tuesday I went out to a customers site for a Preventative maintenance on a machine. Easy enough. Took very little time to complete, until I powered it back up again. Critical disk read error. Spoke with the customer and arranged to fit a new drive on Wednesday. No problems, left home @ 7am, got there about 10am. Damn traffic and road works. This just so happened to be the day of the bad winds, etc.

Got home around 4pm and got a call from another site in Heidelberg saying that their instrument had a drive failure also. So I went back to work, battled through peak hour traffic with rain, wind and drivers who have forgotten to drive, to fix the instrument. Disk replaced and all appeared to be well. Until I got home at 9pm. Phone rang again, the same customer, saying that the heaters were not coming up to temperature. The damn state files were currupt. So Out I went again and fixed this problem.

I finally got home again at around 12am, and was looking forward to sleep. But guess what…… I couldn't sleep.

As for you guys that keep banging on about "IT Nerds", don't hate us because we are smarter and earn more money. Next time you sit down to post a reply on this site just remember, if it wasn't for us you'd still be sending chain letters and hiring your porn from Blockbuster you dirty haters :P

Oh, I remember the days.. Eagerly waiting beside the letter box, hoping that the postman would bring me the latest bunch of letters from "The Wasteland".

haha. I like that one. Hence why i've never purchased an iMac. Always the Mac Towers. I have both platforms at home, use them both for different things.

      Just a follow-up on this topic. From what I can tell so far the rusty residue on the engine block might be unrelated to a coolant leak or maybe just older than anticipated. After driving it from the winter garage to my friend's garage I could not see any new traces of coolant leaking there, but I will test this properly once I was able to fully warm up the car and drive it for a bit. I think I can agree that the whole porous engine block stuff is kind of nonsense, but there is just a silly amount of true, false and half-true information on anything Skyline-related on the internet.

      R33 GTS25 NA - Stalling when vehicle is at operating temp

      I removed the IACV, cleaned it and reinstalled.  I found a video on youtube that helped with the whole process, the guy then said the idle needed to be set, so the process was to get the vehicle up to operating temperature, unplug the TPS, set the idle screw in the IACV so the RPMs were around 600, then plug the TPS back in.  After I reinstalled the IACV, the car started (because, it was a cold start), once it warmed up, the car died, I adjusted the idle screw to see if that helped anything, it did not, I had to wait about 3-5 minutes, then the car would start back up. Only to shortly cut out, and only crank.  I loosened the TPS to see if adjusting that would do anything, and when I would rotate the sensor clockwise, there was a humming noise, but it would go away when I got the sensor in the horizontal position.  It only made the hum noise with the key on.  What do you guys think? 20250414_172604.mp4

      Quick update.  The engine grounding strap was replaced, the engine is now happily running.  Tested the voltage drop before replacing the strap, was about 1.2ish volts down between engine to battery, chassis to battery. With the new grounding strap, pretty much no voltage drop at all.
