4wd System Knocking Noise

Hey guys,

Got a noise coming from the 4wd system in my gtr. The fluid ran dry from a leak and i was unaware. It has since been refilled but now there is a knocking kinda noise coming from it. Anyone know what this could possibly be and how to best fix it?

I'm hopeful that its just that it needs the oil to flow through it again but i doubt it....

Going to look closer at the transfer case.... Any help greatly appreciated.
