Hi guys,

I got R34 GTS-T rims on my R33 GTS-T. I am looking for new tyres to handle my power (260rwkw)

Does anyone know they size of the rim? obviously they are 17", but how think are they? are they 8 inch?

Also, what's the thickest tyre I could place on them without compramising crap handling, (Tyre beeing too wide for the wheel)? 235? 245?

Cheers

R34 GT-t, not GTS-t. and i think they're about 7" wide, wouldnt be 8, and depends on what sort of tyre, if you want a big soft drag tyre you could probly go wider than a low profile circuit style tyre, but should be able to get 265's on there without too many dramas (depends on your own standards)

it's more than tyres that provide traction.

and having 235's over 225's will make bees dick of a difference.

with 260rwkw, and foot to the floor in 1st 2 gears will probably end up with a smoke show with any tyre.

your suspension plays a big part in traction.

Tyre width also doesnt matter too much when u have IRS... in the straight line that is.

If u want straight line traction, grab some adjustable camber tops & adjust more positive camber, that way when the car squats, more rubber will surface the ground.

With my R33 whether i had 285's on the rear or stockies, my tyre marks were still motorbike tyre width... this howver improved heaps once i put coilovers in as there wasnt as much squat.

fit some 245/40's on there and a camber kit. you'l be right.

at the end of the day you are running street tyres with big power. so wheelspin is expected

good luck

What's the best 235 45 17 tyre for under 200? I know that they don't make toyo TP-G anymore.

Cheers
