Autometer A/F ratio guage??

Hi all,

I just put an A/F guage in today, and im not sure if its working properly, it seems to fluctuate very rapidly unless under very hard acceleration or when the car first comes to idle. I bought it in the hope that i could tune the car a bit better with my S-AFC but am now vrey confused, do i go by what the guage says under hard acceleration??? Any help much appreciated.

if you are just sticking to the speed limit and accelerating pretty smoothly it should be going back and forwards... they are only meant to be a guide... I wouldn't really rely on it to tune your car.

alrighty, yeah i wasnt sure if it was working properly or not, and if it was accurate enough to use it to tune the car.

yeah i got one on my r31 just lets me know if its gettin fuel or not, when i boot it (which is pretty much every where) but dont rely on it like a a/f lamba sensor like are used on dynos
