What Is This Hose?

What is this blue hose that's connected from the intake manifold to a small sensor held on by just one screw then connected to the brake master pump fluid bottle? What's it's purpose?

thats the map sensor that runs the standard boost gauge. it should be bolted to the firewall left of the compliance plate

So, if i remove the hose and block both ends, the factory boost gauge won't show anything. That also means i can use the existing map sensor to run an external boost gauge. Am i right?

Just put a "T" in the line going to the pressure sensor and run your aftermarket gauge off that. It just looks estestically better when everything in a car works. Your not gonna jam a screwdriver into your water temp guage when you get a new one so might as well keep the old one working.
