ps13_jason Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 hows it goin, currently have a sr s13 with just ova 300rwhp and considering selling this and buying my grandad's datsun 260z 2+2 seater... 260z like below(not the actual car lol) plans would be rb25det with a target of 250rwkw hks gtrs FMIC Alloy Radiator EBC Bosch FP FPR 555cc injectors Power fc (or equivelent due to rarity) Z32 Foward Facing Plenum ORC Twin Plate 3" Turbo back, probably with varex for stealth n performance LSD upgrade suspension - sway bars, springs n shocks or something disc brakes all round Interior as it comes... Exterior MSA type 3 front bar(Pic of below) prob black paint job some nice rims ---QUESTIONS--- Any1 know if i could source rb gearbox and engine mounts for 260z in perth? or in aus? being a 1970's car, 74 i think... would i have 2 run a catalytic converter? lol any specialist shops of the z car in perth? searched but couldnt find much will be doing probably everything except tuning at home... with help from the old man wanna pretty much do everything from making piping to custom mounts to full rewire (auto sparky apprentice) to painting to like everything haha neways want this to be built by me not just driven by me also would like to hear from any whos done this conversion... already got a heap of info from other websites but can never have enuf Thanx Guys Jason [PS13WA] Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/214050-considering-260z-rb-transplant/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
DrZeus Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 Hey mate.. Used to have 240z. You will love the car dude with an RB in it. Adelaide Z cars are doing RB conversion for customers Race 240z at the moment, and Vic Z club has a few members with RB's in their old school Zeds. As long as the 260Z was built pre emissions then you can get away with blue murder, but to be honest I would still run a cat. It will be less hassle when you get pulled over if you dont have to "explain". Another good conversion is SR20 in 240/260 as the motor sits further back giving slightly better balance.
