Hi guys, im getting a pair of HKS GT-ss for my car, the thing is that it comes with garett 2860-5 actuators...

i read that the GT-ss and 2860-7 are the same turbos

my question is:

would 2860-5 actuators be compatible?? as the GT-ss are smaller turbos compared to the 2860-5

thanks guys

thanks for clearing it up guys

Garrett ones would be, HKS might be a tad higher as a base pressure. Not sure on that one

im not sure what you mean with this one,

are u saying HKS actuator has stronger spring hence = higher base pressure?

anyone knows how many psi HKS and Garett actuator good for, or are they adjustable?? never seen one before excuse the noobness

HKS actuator is suppose to be 50% stronger over standard therefore allowing you to wind up the boost and holding onto that boost when needed. IMO if your not going for crazy boost e.g over 1.4 bar i would not bother. spend money else where.

We just did this with some 2860r-7's, was told the Garret 2860r-5 actuators open at 16psi and I believe the HKS actuators open around 15psi (my GT-SS's arrived this week muhaha)

Both actuators have the threaded arm, so you can adjust the reach - so yep they are adjustable.

Edit: They are good for whatever as long as it is over the base pressure (so 16psi+ or 15psi+). Just depends how much air you bleed of the line that connects to the actuator - leave this disconnected and they might just never open. The turbo however, will break...
