Jus like the topic said, by it i mean look wise (the way itll look in the bay), performance, economy etc. And if lets say u had a 34 gtr engine in a 32 and vice versa would it mean u would have to use 34 drivetrain parts in a converted 32 (i mean R34 gtt drivetrain parts as i believe gtr parts would cost too much $$$, so the car ends up being rwd)

Cheers

Looks wise, providing the engines are in the same condition, look similar but each model recieves updated parts.

So i guess yes, its the same block, but they recieve new better, and bigger parts in what the JAPs thought would improve the newer models. which it has.

Im no expert by any means. Im sure someone will know on here all the different updates however a search on the forum may help you

R32 GT-R - 2.6 L RB26DETT twin-turbo I6, 280 hp (186 kW, 368 N m)

R33 GT-R - 2.6 L RB26DETT twin-turbo I6, 305 PS (224 kW, 375 N m)

R34 GT-R - 2.6 L RB26DETT twin-turbo I6, 332 PS (244 kW, 392 N m)

ps. what are you actually thinking of doing? putting gtr34 parts in r32??

maybe tell us what you are thinking of doing..

im just askin for a mate of mine who owns a 32 and is lookin at a certain 34 GTR engine, could he just run the normal Gtst's drivetrain with the gtr engine or......???

How come in magazines when they all compete against each other over a quarter mile in STOCK form, the 32 Beats the other by only points of a second yet the 34 has over 60 Kw more power?????

gentlemans law champ. Ask urself - why would all japanese performance cars produced by nissan toyota honda etc all run exactly 206kw? truth is - they dont!

No shiet. I was just curious as to where ZENNON got his figures from since the gentlemens law was in place. Meaning Nissan would never have released figures like that.

The figures are obviously rubbish. How does the gentlemens law be in place but yet he has stated 186kw for an r32? The conversion factors are wrong, not to mention it is impossible for those figures to be at wheels figures.

As far as I know the r34 rb26 did not put out 60kw more than the r32 rb26 :(

Ummm, I wouldnt put much faith in those numbers. My 32 GTR has only a turbo back exhaust, boost restrictor removed and might have been tuned in japan (its still stock ecu though) and makes over 200kw at all 4 wheels... which when you convert to power at the engine would be up towards 300kw... and i dont think those very limited modifications would add over 110kw.

Why is the R32 measured in HP and the rest in PS?

186 kW sounds about right. SAU member gtrzillar had his Stock GTR R32 dyno at RE Customs at the Dyno Day, 1st March 08, he hit 185.5 kW at all four wheels with a shitty compliance cat at the time.

I read the GTR R32 makes about 243 kW at the flywheel = 325 HP = 330 PS.

Mind you, the car loses about 20-25% power through the drivetrain as I have been told. (Clarification needed)

"While the published figures from Nissan were quoted as 206 kW (276hp), practical tests showed the car had a factory power output of closer to 330 PS (325 hp) at the flywheel. The lower published figure was Nissan's response to the need to abide by a gentleman's agreement between the Japanese auto manufacturers not to release a car to the public exceeding 280 PS (276 hp) of power output."

This power output should be the same for all the GTR R32, R33 and R34

I can only expect the power to hit 260 kW 350 HP at the flywheel if it was the R34 GTR N1 engine = V-Spec II Nür and R34 M-spec Nür models due to their twin turbos running 1.1 Bar Boost.

Big diferences am afraid..!!

On the side of the block look for things in the format of 6U, 24U etc.

Engine wise there is a diff tho, power-wise, they were held back. The "Gentlemanly power Rule" applies here.

certain xxU engines have better oilways, cooling, stress relief and strenghtening inside them. 24U..!!!

Look for real N1, see what it has on it, should be matching numbers.

Effectively the same power, but its how far you can push them is the major factor here. IF you can get a genuine first N1 motor..ie mine, then it is a bl@@dy strong motor, and can be pushed without all the add-ons... I know, I done it, and its still strong.

There are obvious casting revisions, like chamferings etc, but the crux is in the inside. 24U is the one you aim for. ask a race tuner that knows his stuff.

In answer to "Styline GTR's" point.

The 34GTR had a smaller compressor, so run out of steam when pushed, as the compressor cant flow anymore without being a restriction.

Oh, and weight is another, the 34 is supposedly more of a lump. Changed from 'Race bred' to 'Commuter bred' along the way!!
