Buds,

Need some help. I have a R33 GTS 1997 series 2 runing stock boost. Only mod is 3 inch piping after the cat. Two questions

1) Boost seems to build up and I only feel the rush at 4K rpm. Is this normal?

2) The previous owner cut the sensor wire at the catlytic convertor. What is the sensor for and will it effect performance.

Thanks alot !!!

i'd like to know the answer to "The previous owner cut the sensor wire at the catlytic convertor. What is the sensor for and will it effect performance." as well.

Yeaha as paul said stock boost is staggered it runs in dual stage 5 psi up to 4500rpm(ish) then 7psi from then onwards!

Gl man. welcome to the world of skylines btw!

cutting the cat sensor wont change a thing, it just means the cat overtemp sensor light on the cluster wont fire when the cat is hot

the previous owner might have cut for fun or because it was on all the time. if it was on all the time, then it could indicate the cat is blocked or toast

might be worth pulling the cat off to check it out

thanks for that paul i will be doing this myself when i find some time (really wanna finish my intake manifold though!!) :)

Thanks for the input. I was kinda dissapointed as this car feels so laggy and the little kick comes in only at 4K rpm. Gonna get a manual boost controller and take it up to 0.8 bar with an E-manage to take care of the fueling and ignition. Will update the results.
