Hi guys,

I've got R32 gtst and never have any problems with me HICAS, the light never ever came on til...

I've changed my caster rod to an after market adjustable ones.. well, after I've got this rod installed in my car and after I've done over 80kms/hr then the light came on... so, I thought something to do with the wheels alignment (I didn't do it after the rod installed)

Now, I've got my wheels alignment done but the problems still there, the light still came on after 80kms/hr

So, what should I do next? or what should I look for to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance for all ur inputs

Cheers

Might just be a coincidence ! Have you checked the power steering fluid level ? Make sure you do this after the motor has run for a while and is up to operating temprature. There a sensor in one for the power steering lines and if the level is low and air starts to get into the line the sensor picks it up and triggers the HICAS light.

Wow i dont see how changing castor rods would affect HICAS.

I have put adjustable ones and havnt had any problems.

Could just be a coincidence.

Anything else you have changed recently?

yeah... that's what I though ...

nope, I didn't do anything else apart from changing the rods

?????

how? by following the instructions here : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/HI...icas+diagnostic

Post #7 is the one i used. you might have to try it a couple of times as it was a prick to get it for me. When you feel the arse end doing a little shimmy each way then you have it, just count off the flashes and then chase it from there.

just a word of warning if u do ditch the HICAS, it is illegal if the bar isnt engineered, i just failed inspection because of it, i was hoping they wouldnt notice it but the inspector i got was pretty anal.
