alright i thought id add my 2c. i love BOTH, the R32 and the R33. I wish i could own both. I always admire them when i see them on the road. Hell i even get waved at in my 33 by drivers(32,33).

Iv driven both. The R32 seems more punch, due to the lack of torque as compared to the 33. The 33 has more weight however has more torque. Stock for stock tho, the 33 will win.

The 32 i feel gives you more driver feedback. Neither of them are slow. The 32 likes to rev out. the 33 doesnt NEED to rev out as it has more immediate torque. Down low, the R33 will take the cake anytime, anywhere, however the 32 closes the gap at the top of the rev range as it peaks then.

I love the shape of the 32. damm sexy!

It doesn't close the gap at the top end... I overlayed a mate of mine's 205rwkw R32 GTSt dyno plot with my 280rwkw dyno plot from the same dyno. The R32 was running equivalent mods to mine (bigger turbo, ECU, injectors etc) but with more boost. His lag was about the same, and if anywhere the gap "closed" in the midrange which is probably mostly to do with the larger amount of boost - my dyno plot actually pulled noticeable distance away from his one above 6000rpm. Despite the hype, in my experience when you go a bigger turbo etc on an RB25 they rev harder than RB20s too, and still don't need to.

But RB25s are for lazy drivers who dont want to work hard for their performance :D Dont get me started on RB30s!

R33 is simply the better car on paper. Problem is cars of this age are all so different with regards to mods and condition. Your friends RB20 may not be as well bolted together as your RB25...soooo many variables. Here is an example of my RB20 vs two RB25s. So it all depends on the particular cars you want to compare as to what your opinion will be

Haha I'm not sure if you are joking or not, I knew someone who had that honest opinion. If you went from your RB20 to an RB25, do you think you'd suddenly not try and milk everything it has to give? You've done an awesome job of making RB20s look better relative to its RB25/26 cousins than it should do - I credit you and your car setup more than the engine, makes me wonder how you'd go with a decent RB25 or 30 :)

The dyno plot you have used there doesn't really show anything, all I get from it is you have a different tyre speed vs revs to the other two cars and are probably running more boost. Australia, for heavens sake - get some hub dynos!!

If your talking lazy then EVERYONE who drives a Skyline is lazy taking the turbo option... what a bunch of cheaters! Get a real car get a Honda - takes lots of money and work to get power out of those 4 bangers

    • That’s a beautiful setup Tao, Have u done any development with the new Turbosmart 40mm electronic straight gate, especially in this G30 configuration?
    • Let's hope that's not a copy pump either. There were so many copies of them back in the day.
    • Damn it, I was at work last night, and stayed in a room there during the storm with the car outside, but undercover, I just went downstairs and well....there was a large steel locker that has come from some place last night, it wasn't anywhere I could see yesterday, and yeap, it landed on the fraking car....of course it did..... LOL So, I'll need to take it back for paint and panel, luckily it was only the boot that took the hit, so it could have been worse Serves me right for staying at work and getting on the cans with some of the boys
    • Yeah, really happy with how it all turned out As for aftermarket lip, nah, I'm not really a fan for practically reasons on a street car that gets driven everywhere  I did have the full lower kit on my 2015 STI, but found the front lip scrapped alot, even at stock 4x4ish ride height As the NC sits now, with the lowest point of the car at 110mm, so just legal, some steep driveways and steep speed humps will still "just" scrap those little plastic OEM air dam thingies on the undertray just before the front wheels
    • Here's one I help build and tuned a decade ago, Garrett  GTX3071R Gen 1, T3 twin scroll 0.83 rear housing. Went from larger 272 cams down to smaller Tomei Poncams to help with the low end. S13 non VCT motor. Car was purpose built for the track, hence low down was the focus. Note the actual dyno chart shows lower boost, however the EBC and boost gauge showed 1.9Bar (Ignore the torque, I was young and didn't know how to set derived torque)
