Rb20 Gear Box Strenth

i have a RB25DET in my r32 with a rb20 box what are they power rated to

is there a need to put a rb25 box in it the car makes 220rwkw.

hey dude, i broke 2 teeth of second gear in my rb20 box last week, who knows how it had been driven before me tho, i have had the car only a couple of months. i had 135 rwkw so you might need the upgrade !! although i found out that N/A R34 boxes are the same so i have put one of those in and it is very tight indeed! i wold likt to think a box thats 10 years younger would be a bit better

A 220kw RB25 with an RB20 box behind it is just a matter of time. Plus the box is old. See how long it'll last i reckon, but it won't be long if it has a hard time.

RB25/GT30 on a mild tune and running @ the drags

2 passes and it was whining so loud i could hear it over the stereo

I'd suspect a fair bit less could kill them given i didn't have much traction at all to load it

I killed one with my RB20 then another one a couple of months after the RB30 went in.. 183rwkw, lots of torque and 2nd gear clutch drops did it

rb25 box for sure.. i have blown 2 20boxes in last 12months and ive only got 200rwkw button clutch doesnt do it any favours
