Just wanted some other peoples views on doing this.

ive considered carbon but i just dont want to deal with having to get it enginered and what not.

plus i dont really need to do any weight saving as its just a street car. just want your oppinions on what you guys think.

ive seen it done before but im still not sure.

The painting of bonnets black was a racing thing done in matt black to stop reflected shine from the bonnet to your eyes...

If the only thing on your car to be black is bonnet I wouldn't do it, I have painted my bonnet black cause I have a silver car with black rims, graphics, wing, dark windows, eyelids and mesh covering the FMIC, so a black bonnet works with the theme....

But to have only the bonnet in black wouldn't look as good as tying it into other parts of the car....

Maybe you need some graphics?

Keep in mind that spraying your bonnet will cost at least $250... and it doesn't make you go any faster...

I agree with 75coupe.

just the bonnet looks out of place, or like it has been replaced due to damage and your too cheap to have it sprayed the right colour..lol

do the wing or rims or something else to make it match the whole car!

another option is to just do the raised part of the bonnet instead of the whole thing..

Bottom line though, it's totally up to you and what YOU like. our opinions don't matter!

Photoshop it, put it on your desktop so you can see it every day, decide in a week if you still like the idea..

as long as everything blends in ur theme...like u got a nice kit and black rims then the black/cf bonnet will look good

heres a pic when i used to have a cf bonnet...in the pic the bonnet is left open

HAHA!! You trying to get him to pay you for some graphics. I like you subtle sales pitch. :D

But interesting what you said about painting the bonnet black so you will not have the sun glare.

Painting the bonnet black can look good tho.

I saw a white R32 GTS-T with black bonnet, doors and boot lid. Had a bit of a colour patten happening but it has to be consistent too.

im liking the idea of it. never thought of the photoshop but will get a good pic of the car and doo that.

i already have black rims, black mesh if front of the cooler plus a gtr wing with the N1 carbon blade so i have enough black for it to blend in.

also i was even thinking of painting the boot black as well and leaving the gtr wing on it or removing that and getting a stealth wing but leave the wing white.

but yeah in the end its up to me i guess.just thought id get some other views. thanks heaps guys will get the photoshop thing done and decide from their.

good thing is i have a mate who does spray painting so i will get out of that cheap.

cheers guys

I love black bonnets as they do make the car look more like a race car .There is enough black on skylines with the window surround to give it a complete look .Noone I knew liked mine when I painted the car but once the windows went back in people loved it .

Hey saw this car at EAS a few months, how is it all going?

Have you considered changing the chrome surround headlights to the black 2dr ones? Would match your bonnet and grill alot better, considering you haven't gone for bling rims etc.

yeah i'm going carbon bonnet, mirrors and stealth wing on my 33... it has tints and black ssr's...

its all about the theme... was thinkin bout painting the door handles black too...

Hi Al,

I have thought of changing the headlights to the black ones, i think they would tie in nicely, but as you can see it was used on a wedding day......MINE, so there goes the funding for a while.

The car had chrome wheels when i brought it so the headlights did fit in originaly.

Yer the car was at EAS a while back getting tuned, the boys did a very good job and pointed me in the right direction with a few other things too. very happy with their work.

    • Update:   smoke test all pipes no issues cleaned reservoir   fluid put in ( dexron 3 atf)   steering turn side to side and could hearing  gurgling from steering rack which I assumed was air lock, opened one of the steering rack connections and could see loads of air getting pushed out( not sure if you meant to do that / whether it will re introduce air into system)   anyways, loads of side to side sound was gone. Turned car on, pump was slightly ( barely) wining so turned side to side few more turns and fluid level when car on was almost none in resorvoir which I guess is normal if car is one. Turned car of and fluid was gushing out. Almost 200-300cc was pushed out. Repeated engine off side to side followed  by engine on and same result       going mad now. It seems system is either sucking air in whilst on or there is tons of air which I am not giving it enough time to bleed. Thoughts?   would it work like brake caliper if I open steering rack copper pipes and let gravity pull all air out?   or maybe have a restriction somewhere? What is the red circled item, could that be blocked? It i
