how can the supra be in the gtrs shadow???

it was made to destroy the american muscle cars and it does that very veyr well.. in most cases, its faster, brakes better and handles better. doesnt always look better but its still an eye catcher

everyone knows the supra for its out right speed potential..

gtr is known for its out right track dominance. they are both brutal machines, but in theyre respective fields.

u dont see any 6sec gtrs.. but then u dont see any track ownin supras.. each are different. no1s in anyones shadow

i hope the lf-a owns all those mercs and bmw's and astons and what not.. i hope they own the luxo barge league

Didn't the LFA cut a 7min24sec lap round the Ring? Last time I checked it was quicker than the new GTR...and even if it isn't...thats still a VERY impressive time for a rwd NA...

And that howl from the V10 as heard on those youtube videos is enough to send a chill down my spine!!!

Someone correct me here, but i was under the impression that the supra 2jz, had a faster 1/4 time than an r33 gtr, and was renowned for its excellent neutral handling despite its curb weight(hmmm do i see a similarity to the r35)

that is 100% correct, hence me sayin, u DONT see 6sec gtrs (meaning u see 6 sec supras) BUT u dont see any supras owning the track because they dont.. they gtr owns the track

as for nuetral handling.. i dont think so. maybe when theyre prepped, but in stock form, theyre not very nuetral

they understeer easily and they oversteer even easier

the 7:24 isnt confirmed or official, but i doubt it will be far off that given the predicted numbers the V10 will produce and knowing Toyotas build quality. The Lexus is a hot looking car and sounds tough as nails, unlike the vaccuum cleaner GTR

I believe only on full drag tires. But on street legal tires such as Nittos? - not a chance.

In Japan, they are more into the the Nitto's for their drag cars - makes it more challenging. You don't see many or any Supra's in the RH9 club.

u see 6 sec supras

They're not Supras, it's a bespoke drag chassis with some plastic over it that looks sorta like a Supra, if it's dark and you squint a bit. You could easily change it from Supra looking plastic to Camaro looking plastic in less than an hour.

Cheers

Gary

RH9 is a club for GTRs running under 9sec on street tyres. thats why you dont see any supras in there. cos its a GTR club

You are correct...its far better than what people make it out to be...i've read that it actually holds more Gs under constant cornering compared to a 33gtr...not sure about the standard 1/4 times though...

And just just for good measure...watch this!!!

Watch the supra take on the other cars of its time...then call it a boat...in the vid...SUPRA > GTR RX7 NSX....

I didn't mean comparing one extreme to the other (fastest track GTR vs the fastest drag Supra)

I'm well aware of what each car is capable tuned to the extreme.

I meant, the appeal of the car to your average performance vehicle enthusiast.

i.e Real life application. That means GROUNDING the power. :P

Mod for Mod a street GTR will always be quicker than a street Supra, at the track OR the drags. AWD ftw!

My point is that there aint any Supras with street tires running under 10 sec quarter mile times. RWD and just too heavy - no matter how good the engine is.

    • Much less twat-tastic. CF wheels are too garish for civilised use.
    • From there, as the manual says....assembly is the reverse of disassembly, no tricks worth mentioning Much better (for me)
    • In my case, the standard wheel I had was in good condition but the buttons had more wear, so I swapped them across from the original wheel from the car. The plastic rear cover is held on by 4 tabs, and once the wiring is removed you can get access to 2 screws on each side the hold the buttons in From there I just swapped the wiring over. What was interesting is the standard style wheel is 2.0kg but the carbon fibre one is 50% heavier at 2.9kg. It even has a weight inside the wheel at the top to make up for some sort of imbalance in the design. weird
    • Once the airbag is off, to remove the steering wheel.... Undo the 2 plugs into the clock spring, and the horn connector from it's clip. Hit the 19mm nut with a rattle gun (preferably) or if you don't' have one, you probably want an assistant to hold the wheel in place while you use a breaker bar to undo the nut Then, screw the nut back on 3 turns, and pull the wheel sharply towards you. If that doesn't work hit it medium force with a rubber mallet on either side, or possible behind if you can get there. If that all fails (it shouldn't!) you might need a steering wheel puller
    • So, to next task....the carbon fibre steering wheel was either an expensive factory option or a chinesium special. Either way, I don't like either the flat bottom or thick ring style, so it had to go So...to remove the steering wheel.... First, disconnect battery negative and stomp on the brake pedal for a few seconds. Then, remove the small circular covers on each side of the wheel's rear surround to uncover the airbag clips. You need to push something like a flat bladed screw driver through, to push the steel clip inwards and pull the side of the airbag forward. Once you've done the easy side, same on the centre console side. You can see the tab you are shooting for circled in red Then, disconnect the horn spade connector and for the yellow airbag plug you need to get something small under the black locking tab to pop it out, then the connector releases......airbag is off
