hey i just bought a 32 gtr vspec and after driving for a week or so now have been getting used to the 4WD system. it's good for general driving don't get me wrong i like it, but it gets anoying when doing skids and or drifting. i know to make it RWD u can pull the fuse out in the fuse box or spend bigger $$$ to buy a TCS, but im kinda on a budget so i was woundering has anyone just put a switch in. just like a basic on/off switch but instead of on/off it wounld be 4WD/RWD????

just woundering has anyone done it and does it works ok?

Also would it casue a problem with the computer controlling the torque split if left on RWD????

any info would be much appreciated!!!

hey guys, i have a r33 gts4, i just wanna know can the 4wd be disengaged simply from pulling out the 4wd fuse out (under the driver side fuse box i think it is?) and turned back on plugging it on. (Or tapping the fuse and making a switch for it)

I searched around and found some ppl stated that for r33 gts4s you have to remove the 4WD fuse AND disconnect the front drive shaft in order to run it in RWD mode.

A while back my r33 gts4 4WD dash light it up, indicating there is a problem with my 4WD and it has been disengaged now running in RWD mode. I turned my car off and turned it back on and 4WD light turned off. 4WD was back again. This happened a couple of times but problem has never came back since.

What I dont get is,....when there is a problem with the 4wd system, the 4WD light on the dash lights up and indicating a problem with the 4WD, RWD is the engaged.

Wouldn't this mean there may be a switch of some sort disengaging and reengaging the 4WD without having to disconnect the front drive shaft nor 4WD fuse?!?!?

Also would it be possible to install a HKS torque splitter/drag splitter in a r33 gts4?

if you use a switch to turn off the front wheels and then put them back on, i think you have to stop completely before the front wheels reset and start working again.

i could be wrong but that's how it happens when you use the "switch off the ignition while moving" method of disconnecting front drive...
