Rb25det Braking Down Slightly Up High

My 33 is braking down slightly on the high boost setting 18psi and doesn't have the same problem on the lower settings . I'm running NGK BCPR7ES plugs gapped at .08 I think I'm pretty much on the money with the plug choice and gap maybe I have a coil pack problem?.

Ignition break down is mighty common in Nissan's - Skyline 101. There are even dedicated threads for it i believe. Your guess at unhealthy coils is a good start, but by no means the only possibility.

I had this problem at the drags.Installed some Splitfires problem solved.

Sounds most likely coils are on thier way out by the fact its ok on lower boost.

Common problem.

Could also be the ignitor pack is dying too (heat related that one) and more boost, more heat is causing it.

Two things to look at, again, ignitor is common too

what other mods you got on your car mate.....if its doing that on 18psi and not on a lower one then your prob running too much boost

Higher boost will make it harder for the spark to jump the gap.

Reducing the plug gap will confirm this, try a gap of .65.

If that works you can stop there or upgrade coils packs and increase gap.

Thanks for the reply's , car's running high mounted 35/40 , pfc and all the usual supporting mods so yeh 18psi on this setup isn't over the top . Will trying gapping the plugs to .65 like mentioned above and see how it goes .
