Hi Guys,

My ride has been taken from me on Thursday 17th April, 2008 around the shire area. It is a White 1995 Skyline GTR with the rego plate BFC-39V. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Any parts that are being sold in the area could be from my car.

dam sorry to hear bout this. Please tell me you didnt park it in Westfields... Do u have insurance? probably the same mob that hit a few of the imports in that area.

crapp,

im soo sorry to hear, where abouts did you park, I live in the shire too, so i just wanna be aware. But , mhm its only been a day...maybe it will turn up soon. Should go around shire area this weekend.

i'll keep my eyes peeled!

that sucks mate  I'm going to go out on a limb here and say no alarm, no insurance. it's always the way. all these threads but people still don't learn that spending some good money on those things is worth every cent.

good alarm sometimes is usually worthless.. if a crook does his research and knows what alarm you're using, then he/maybe she could BYO alarm module & remote, plug and play and drive off...

e.g. like Mongoose, very popular alarm, favoured by alot of imports but

M20, M60 M80 AU/G/XXX all use the same loom. Get the picture?

I used to have a M80 in my car, ripped it out, and wired up a yumcha alarm from eBay.. feel more safe like that.

Insurance is the only way to go, but at 3k per year... its not the most cost effective solution.

well if you get a theif looking at 2 cars. one with alarm, one without what do you think he will chose? there is no real need for thieves to 'research' your alarm because there are plenty of people out there with no alarm to keep them busy. sure if you have a really special car they may go to the effort of disabling your alarm to steal the car, but most will just move on to the next un-armed car. sure it wont stop any determined theif, but the main benefit of a decent alarm is it means you can get insurance. it may not seem cost effective but it's well worth it if your car is stolen. also you say $3000 a year? that is crazy, but even if that is the case if you took up that policy the premium would most likely halve the next year.

also, if a good alarm is so worthless why is it that every "my car got stolen" thread I can think of in the last year none of those cars had alarms? also personally I've had many cars and only even had one stolen, and it just had a basic factory fitted thing. all the others have had reasonable alarms. could be coincidence, but maybe not.

Hmmmm makes me a little skeptical now... I'm getting an M80 installed in my car tomorrow (my 21st today yay!!) for my birthday and from what was said about the looms it makes me wonder about why we bother "wasting" so much money on keeping our pride and joy away from theives with insurance, immobilisers, alarms etc. I hope these people get what's coming to them and learn to keep their hands to themselves, grow up and just leave someone else's sh!t alone

Sorry to hear mate must be heart breaking, imo car alarms are shit they have given me more trouble than they are worth. The best thing i can say is a red diode for the illusion of an alarm a fuel cut switch and car tracking (was a group buy on here) and the fuel cut has saved my mates car heaps of times (a vl commo) so if they cant find the switch it goes no where and if they do the hidden tracking will find it. Best of luck mate finding your car....

Having a good alarm will just slow down the process of the theft.

Eg) in a busy shopping center where cars still go missing. If there is no alarm, someone can just jump in, hot wire and drive off. With a good alarm, it will take him a lot longer to get it started and by that time hopefully walks past or see's whats happening. Also it might require to take the dash out etc.. so mroe time there

Well thats the theory anyway hahah

That's exactly right, if a crook wants your car, they will get it... by any means.. baseball bat, gun, wrench whatever...

Just an alarm will slow down the process.

and yeah, don't get a mongoose alarm, everyone has them!

I'm just telling everyone this to save their Nissans... too often I see people getting their cars stolen and it hurts...

Was it stolen in the shire? If so where abouts?

So i know not to park there and to warn others..

will deff keep an eye out. I informed ppl on ns.com for ya too

Sorry to hear.. I would be so cut if it were me..

Post your number up just in case someone spots it.. could be driving around right this minute..

I know everyone says this but GL .. I hope your baby turns up in one piece.. or maybe a bit of karma will come their way!

The car was broken into and taken. Not sure if it was driven away or towed away. Either way the car is gone.

depending on where it was parked at the time,,,ask around to see if anyone seen any tilt tray trucks around the area. :)

hope you get it back dude.
