I took off the timing cover and had it chrome plated, but am having trouble on the install. (I am not as technically inept as this sounds LOL)

When I bolt it back up there is no tension between the cover and the 2 top bolts (2mm gap and I purchased new rubber spacer/washers)

I don’t recall any gaskets or additional spacers that sit behind the cover from the removal. (sort of hoping this may be my problem, but the engine manual doesn’t show any either)

Can anyone offer any advice? I realise that a firm fit isn’t essential, but I doubt Nissan stuffed up and made the bolts too long.
