i'd love to enter, but i have some questions

would they let me enter with a leaking water pump?

can i borrow a helmet, or do they lend them out or something?

can i join SDMA on the day or is it worth sending my form off during the week?

do i enter on their web site or how does that work?

i sent my CAMS licence forms away last week and kept the 30 day licence part, they accept that dont they?

and last but not least, do i need to mount the fire extinguisher with a certain type of screw/bolt, like high speed steel or something?

whoa soo many questions :P

Questions are gooooood, it means you're interested :)

1) Depends how bad it is, do you want us to have a look at it and let you know?

2) I should have a open face one here you can try on for size

3) You can join SDMA (and for those who haven't, CAMS as well) on the day, just put that on the form where it says member number, just say "new member, will pay on Sunday"

4) Easiest way to enter is to right click the entry download link, save the file, edit with your details - you are the entrant (owner) and driver so need to fill same details in both sections - in the CAMS licence section I would say you have the 30 day slip but no number yet - pay the $70 into the SDMA bank account listed and copy/paste the receipt details into an email and attach the entry form and send to the email address listed on the form (BEFORE 8pm Wednesday to get the saving).

5) I would call CAMS and ask them to fax a confirmation to you that they have received your application as a backup

6) and last but not least - No special screws required

I think you will enjoy this, it doesn't have the wear and tear of circuit racing, but has the time trials fun of trying to beat your previous time. The club is also very supportive.

I'll PM my mobile number and if you want to swing by, give me a yell.

I'll be there taking photos, Both my car and the friends car I was suppose to use as a back up have come across a few more dramas........such is life....lol

Would of liked to have gone to this, but have a CISCO exam I really should study for on the next day , so a no go for me. I will get on there one day. I am still good to go for Texikhana.

Why don't you come out for a look and start getting a feel for it

Agreed! And the Formula Holden is more fun to see in real life than just the pics. Nice driving Michele (I assume noone beat you after I left). Thanks for the info/help, I'll have a bash next time

Fastest Time of Day :blush:;):bunny: :bunny: :bunny::(:)

they said I made history with the club by being the first lady to ever take out FTD and they said quite possibly made history for Hillclimbs in general

Congratulations to Jeno (Tarmac), Jo and Chris (unSteadyEddie) who all achieved PB's today.

I'll let everyone know about the next hillclimb in May as we get closer, after that there won't be any hillclimbs in June, but they will make up for it with a 2 lap event in July but will only allow 40 entries.

Anyone who joins SDMA between now and July will have their licences through to end June 2009 (bonus months) so it would be great to have you there... if you are a member of SAU, you can get an SDMA day membership for $10 (limit 3 times a year) but can be credited that money if you join (towards membership)

They take a few days to publish the results and I'll put them up here when they come through... in the meantime, my best time today was 44.57

Tarmac, Jo & Steady can post up what their PB's were today.

    • Bump on this to not make another post, had a ‘head drain’ leak on me and have the engine out as we speak. Planning on just putting a new freeze plug back in , plug the tapped holes and just be done with that headache.    Now I still want to relieve pressure to allow oil to pass down the blocks returns easier. I’ve seen catch cans with multiple vents help folks with this issue on this forum.  I’m wanting to make my own. I have some pictures here of my setup if anyone can help how I should plumb and design the catch can I would deeply appreciate it !   rb25 Oil upgrades: 1.0mm restrictor n1 pump/billet gears extended crank collar  extended sump with trap doors/w welded fitting
    • The Frenchy's kit is the way to go forward. A modern compressor that weighs about 1/2 as much, is at least twice as efficient, and will do a good job on R134a. And of course the kit has everything else you need to connect it up and have it work properly.
    • Hey all , I am in the process of having the AC system in my r32 GTST converted from r12 to r134a and I’m being told my compressor has gone bad and I will need a new one. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for what is the best route to go aside from dropping $1500 on a new oem one? I did see that Frenchy’s performance garage offers a kit to mount a Toyota compressor, has anybody actually used this kit on their car? Or is there anywhere I could purchase just a clutch? Any help is appreciated.
    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
