How about a JZX-90 or JZX-100 Toyota Chaser/Mark II?

I think JZX-90's go for mid-$20's, if my memory serves me correctly.

They've got a good balance of luxury and performance, four doors, nice shape, lots of available performance parts, RWD, and the 1JZ-GTE motor (which has got to be at least as good as any RB motor)!

If I hadn't been lusting after a Skyline for so long, this would quite easily be my next choice. Might still do it after I own a Sky...
