I thought I would ask what OEM parts would you think might be needed one day for the V35, aside from the usual items for any model car including panels, lights, gearbox's and motors has anybody had issues with little bits that Nissan have asked stupid money for that might be worth looking for while my mate is over their chasing down other V35 bits at the wrecking yards.

I am not saying I will be selling V35 bit's or that I will be taking orders or anything like that so don't PM me as I am not an SAU trader, it is just my mate has some important PV35 bits to source yes "kleenbeats" so he can kill two birds with one stone as it is better to ask what you might want.

headlights - they can look crap very quickly and for some that are beyond polishing might be worth getting a few sets including 06+ sets as upgrades

anything that was an OEM option/upgrade - TV screens, leather/suede seats

spare ballasts + globes for thsoe without them

wheels - 18" and 19" OEM upgrades

don't worry too much about engines/gearboxes as they are the same as 350z's (except the CVT-8 gearbox)

dash pieces seem to be holiding up ok but maybe some steering wheels for the future? or some centre consoled in case they get scratched up a bit?

some smalelr engine parts such as ECUs, coil packs, AFMs, etc that might be of worry well down into in the future

stock/aftermarket exhausts for when they start to rust in a few years..

does that help?

The OEM 350Z leather/heated/airbagged seats are, installed, $17K from your local Nissan dealer. If I remember correctly, the V35 coupe has airbag seats too.

If you can get them in on the cheap, with good quality to ensure the airbag works, they should sell to repairers well.

if you get in some of the OEM optional 19s (forged rays 5-spoke) with tyres i will definately take them off your hands - 100% guarantee!

I know where a set of those are :)

had my hands on that car today..

i know of a V35 down on the gold coast getting complied where the workshop is "thinking" of letting me have them but only once compliance is done

Your the man Nigel!!!!

You could stock up on CVT-8 gearboxes for when these fail apparently are big $$ to replace...one of the main reasons I stayed clear of them.

Got a couple CVT-8's on order before worrying about spares but they are top of the list along with 4 and 5 speed.

headlights, OEM TV screens, wheels - 18" and 19" OEM, dash pieces, steering wheels, center console, ECUs, coil packs, AFMs and stock exhausts

These will come with the front and half cuts automatically, it isn't worth buying individually from another wrecking yard over their on the V35's.

Got 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 motors, 4 speed, 5 speed and 8 speed box's, also 350Z Auto Box is different enough so it cant be used in a V35 (it has already been tried).

Yes leather seats!

Sitting in containers to long so they get covered in mold, Jeff at C-Red has access to leather kits for complete replacement or the seat cover type, OEM Japan supplier from memory so good quality.

People might of read some of my posts in the Stagea forum about Liability Insurance just on the subject of Muz's M35 Stagea and the emission tests so that is one item I would not touch with a Barge Poll.

get me a spare nav screen and buttons

Yes Chris just for you.

I want some myself so don't worry I know they are cool and wont last long.

We have to buy complete cars for a lot of these V35 parts to make it viable unless we are lucky so on the V35 it is mainly damaged cars, I bought an M35 Stagea as I will be complying them soon even though it is Non Turbo it is a tidy low klm car meaning viable to buy then to cut up for those odd bits.

We have been trying for over 12 months to buy damaged V35's for parts and it isn't easy, as we all know if they were that cheap every import wrecker will have parts in stock including CVT-8 gearbox's.

People will have to try Import Monster or Japan Parts for second hand or new OEM parts for now.

yeah OEM body parts like front lips.. i would like one of those

or even some 06 sport bumpers, the ones with the slightly different front opening on them.. i would definately take one of those!

Agree. I would 100% take either.

    • Thanks for your insight, it being basically useless will impact my decision for sure. I thought it may help the engine breath better I guess. But then again, I have also been told that tuning an RB20DE is also not worth it. Exactly, we follow EU Regulations. There is a bit more leeway on older vehicles. My Porsche 924 came without a cat from factory and managed to pass, they still mentioned that I have quite high emissions on it though.
    • My apologies, I stand corrected. Thanks for registering to mention this! And thank you for actually reaching out to the council to clarify. This is the sensible thing to do and the opposite of what I was alluding you were doing. I may have seen too much outrage and hate being fueled on the internet and it has made me a somewhat cynical old man. Sometimes it is easy to forget that there are real people behind websites and accounts. In my defence, CarExpert and CarExplore do read quite similarly at a glance. I shall try and do better in the future. (Please stick around to get the latest scoops on dealing with old Nissan shitboxes )
    • Don't bother. The poor little RB20 doesn't make enough gas flow to challenge the flow capabilities of even the littlest cat, and you won't make any extra power, and all you'll do it soot up your rear bumper. Plus....is Malta not runing under Euro regs?
    • Hey Daniel, sorry to hear that and thanks for posting up for us at a really hard time I only knew SmoothLine through the forums, we never met as we are based in different states, but when he was most active on here he was quite a while back so not many of the current crowd might remember him. I am pretty sure he was active in the Queensland SQU club but that is defunct now too (times are changing and we are all getting older). Farewell SmoothLine!
    • Turns out depending on whether the car was equipped with TCS or not there are different signals coming to the dash, meaning there are different speedo clusters.  Wired in a speedo calibrator box from aliexpress and now works fine.
