docile
Woo hoo!! After being patient and going through some major hassles over the last 3months i finally picked up my new toy this arvo :uh-huh: As some of you know i COULDNT get a skyline (due to RAC finance hassles etc) so i had to find another car...... Well i know its not a skyline but i ended up buying an IMMACULATE late model 97 WRX (in black ). At least its not a commy i guess! It worked out that i'm at least $200 a month better off with anything other than a skyline (mainly due to massive insurance). Cant argue with that. Bugger paying $370 a month for insurance.... So finally after all the hassles it all worked out. Its still 100% stock for the time being (have some fairly big ideas though ) and is litterally in perfect condition!! I'll post up pics for anyone interested when i find someone with a digital camera. OK now all those people who are going to bag my car (we've all heard the gearbox and wrecks jokes) dont bother replying I dont bag your cars so i expect the same back. Another quick question. Would I (and a couple of mates, two with low 12 second wrx's and a stock skyline) be welcome at cruises, even though i dont have a skyline?? Its pretty exciting having a new toy eh! Cheers Mat PS ohh and BTW the gearbox is in perfect condition too! (touch wood ) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21574-woohoo/ Share on other sites

GTS-t VSPEC
Yeah, but at least it wasn't his first choice, he really wanted the Skyline:D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21574-woohoo/#findComment-456810 Share on other sites
docile
Hahaha Yeh Pauls right, It wasnt my first choice (hence the reason i joined SAU) but im more than happy with it. My mate got a skyline (stock also) a couple of days ago and he had no chance when we had a little run!! And as Dan (25GTT) will tell you im a BAD manual driver (having only driven a manual learners car about 5 yrs ago!). Daniel, i bought it private sale and the guy has never thrashed it. Its so easy to see too Its a very nice car and im so rapt! Stage one (coming after i pay stamp duty (BTW does anyone know how much that will cost for about ~24K) will be full exhaust etc and hopefully before the end of the year i'll have suspension, big turbo, FMIC, autronics etc. Niz.... Black is awesome but far out it shows up every little detail and what was a clean car yesterday is now dirty as.... I havent found anyone with a digital camera so i'll have to do things the hard way! pics tomorrow. GTS-t VSPEC
Mat, I think Stamp duty is 3% of the cars value, or something like that. WRX's are great cars, and I'm sure you'll have great fun in it:D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21574-woohoo/#findComment-457484 Share on other sites
AeroGrace
only cars below $15000 in value are calculated at a fixed % of around 3%+- Exceeding that it goes on a sliding scale all the way up to 6.6 percent. go here to calculate it out: http://www.dpi.wa.gov.au/licensing/myvehic.../buy/trans.html Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21574-woohoo/#findComment-457727 Share on other sites

docile
Ok i managed to get a couple of pics (not very good ones because scanner is rooted). But we've all seen a stock rex before. Hopefully they work! After i put on a full 3" exhaust i will put on some other rims (mate has a mad set he'll give me for super cheap!) and maybe go spoilerless! Not sure yet. After that comes suspension / brakes / FMIC, big turbo / autronics etc. BTW im NEVER getting a black car again. I've only had it 2 days and what started off as a nice clean car is now filthy. At least it stands out from all the other rex's out there. Cheers Mat EDIT: Ok the pics didnt work!! I'm so dodgy with computers. Anyone want to help (maybe i can email them when i scan them properly??) Also anyone know how i make an image smaller so it can be my avitar (i dont have / know how to use photoshop programs etc) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21574-woohoo/#findComment-459382 Share on other sites

docile
Hahaha anytime!! Im not really worried about speeding just no launches! I've got a gearbox that i plan to look after!! My GF had a drive yesterday and she handled it remarkably well. Shes not the best driver but now she wants to buy me things that make it faster so SHE can drive it........
